Patty Jenkins took to to set the record straight, revealing that after a long and prosperous development process, she had departed from Rogue Squadron before Wonder Woman 3's production. Not only was her return asked for by Lucasfilm, but it was also incredibly welcomed.

“They made a new deal with me. I am still on it, and that project has been actively developing ever since. I don't know if it will happen,” she continued.

In September 2019, news of Feige's project initially surfaced. Yet, the story was met with silence until May 2022 when Michael Waldron from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness announced he had begun writing a screenplay for Marvel Studios President. “I'm enjoying having the freedom on that to do something that's not necessarily a sequel or anything,” the screenwriter said.
