Regrettably, Jenkins' Rogue Squadron was postponed from its original November 2021 release date to December 2022. The movie has since been taken off Disney's calendar for 2023 and is no longer slated for that year. Patty Jenkins took to Twitter to set the record straight, revealing that after a long and prosperous development process, she had departed from Rogue Squadron before Wonder Woman 3's production. Not only was her return asked for by Lucasfilm, but it was also incredibly welcomed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&ldquo;They made a new deal with me. I am still on it, and that project has been actively developing ever since. I don&rsquo;t know if it will happen,&rdquo; she continued.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In September 2019, news of Feige's project initially surfaced. Yet, the story was met with silence until May 2022 when Michael Waldron from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness announced he had begun writing a Star Wars screenplay for Marvel Studios President. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m enjoying having the freedom on that to do something that&rsquo;s not necessarily a sequel or anything,&rdquo; the screenwriter said.</span></p>

According to <i>The Hollywood Reporter, </i>Walt Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn discussed Feige taking over the franchise by either working alongside or replacing current “Star Wars” producer Kathleen Kennedy.</p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the <span class="s2">Lucasfilm</span> team are working on, not only in terms of <i>Star Wars</i> but also <i>Indiana Jones</i> and reaching into other parts of the company including <i>Children of Blood and Bone</i> with Emma Watts and Fox,” Horn said. “With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in <i>Star Wars</i> storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a <i>Star Wars</i> film together.”</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">It remains to be seen if this will mean Feige will be partnering with Kennedy on a new “Star Wars” movie or if he’ll be producing a new feature film once “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” hits theaters.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">The Hollywood Reporter reports Feige may have already started casting. “Feige has told a major actor that there’s a specific role he would like that person to play when and if he makes the movie,” but it’s unknown who that person is at this point.</span></p>

The buzz around the potential deal between Disney and Fox is growing the latest report suggest the deal could be complete by next week. Many fans are excited about the potential deal. Not only are most of Fox's television assets included in the deal, it would also bring huge franchises like <em>Avatar </em>and <em>X-Men </em>to Disney's impressive lineup.

This could be too much a single person could handle, but one person is excited about the prospect of welcoming the X-Men franchise to Disney. Kevin Feige, the man behind Marvel Studios, is ready to bring Fox's franchises, including <em>X-Men </em>and <em>Fantastic Four, </em>into the mix with <em>The Avengers </em>and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to Deadline.
