Patty Jenkins and Kevin Feige’s Revolutionary ‘Star Wars‘ Projects Put on Hold by Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm has sadly discontinued all Star Wars projects previously spearheaded by Patty Jenkins and Kevin Feige.

Sources close to Lucasfilm have reported that both features are no longer being actively developed, though the cause of their cancellations remains a mystery. Regrettably, Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron was postponed from its original November 2021 release date to December 2022. The movie has since been taken off Disney’s calendar for 2023 and is no longer slated for that year. Patty Jenkins took to Twitter to set the record straight, revealing that after a long and prosperous development process, she had departed from Rogue Squadron before Wonder Woman 3’s production. Not only was her return asked for by Lucasfilm, but it was also incredibly welcomed.

“They made a new deal with me. I am still on it, and that project has been actively developing ever since. I don’t know if it will happen,” she continued.

In September 2019, news of Feige’s project initially surfaced. Yet, the story was met with silence until May 2022 when Michael Waldron from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness announced he had begun writing a Star Wars screenplay for Marvel Studios President. “I’m enjoying having the freedom on that to do something that’s not necessarily a sequel or anything,” the screenwriter said.

Jason Sudeikis recently proposed that the beloved Ted Lasso series may conclude after its third season.
