Don Cheadle reveals what it was like making Miles Ahead. Don Cheadle's new movie Miles Ahead hits theaters on Friday. The movie took 10 years to make, several renegotiations, casting issues, and financial problems. Despite it all Don Cheadle delivered the movie of his career. But, that doesn't mean Don Cheadle wasn't scared. Related: Don Cheadle Reveals Directing Tips He Got From His Famous Friends According to an interview with Page Six, Don Cheadle was a "nervous wreck". Apparently, the years of stress, pressure and inexperience behind the camera took a toll on the House of Lies actor. “Making it, I was a nervous neurotic wreck. Such a state that I thought I’ll never get through it. Daily, I was scared. A mess. Thinking I’ll never survive.” Related: Don Cheadle: I Was FORCED to Hire a White Co-Star The movie centers around the jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. It was created, produced, co-written, directed and starred by Don Cheadle. Consequently, if anything goes wrong, it would basically be Don Cheadle's fault. “The idea was mine so I pitched it. Opening my mouth, it then all fell to me. Filming was harrowing. For instance, a tricky boxing scene. Miles in the ring, fight scenes, body doubles, musicians, a car chase. Over two nights, each needing a different look colluded.” So how did Don Cheadle learn how to produce, write, and direct a movie? By paying attention to others. “For 30 years, I’ve watched things on set. Focused. Kept my eyes and ears open. Saw how everything works. What information they didn’t give me, I stole. Learn about the sound mixer. Figure how the director works. Ask questions. I was always curious. Not that you were ever ready — but you learn a lot." Related: “Miles Ahead” Starring Don Cheadle Open Casting Call Don Cheadle had a lot of responsibility in making this movie because the Davis family entrusted him with personal stories, music, and information about the legendary jazz musician.“See, my parents knew Miles. Since I was young I’ve listened to him. I never knew him personally, but I played sax in school. And when I started this production, his family gave me access to his music, pictures, stories, people he worked with — a treasure trove of material. “But it was so tough and took so much out of me that my wife said I mustn’t do anything like this ever ever again.” You can watch a trailer for the Miles Davis biopic below: What do you think? Netflix's new series 'Making a Murderer' is causing the Internet and the world to go wild. But, what really happened to Steven Avery and Teresa Halbach? Making a Murder is a TV series that first aired on Netflix in mid-December 2015. The first season recounts the story of Steven Avery, a man who was first imprisoned for sexual assault and attempted murder, and was later exonerated, only to be accused again for the murder of Teresa Halbach. The series was filmed over the course of ten years, with the creators moving back and forth from Wisconsin to New York during filming. The series was filmed over the course of ten years, with the creators moving back and forth from Wisconsin to New York during filming. The first episode was first released on YouTube and gained millions of views within a matter of days. That is something that Netflix had not previously done for any other original programming in history. It would be the second documentary produced by Netflix following Chef's Table, which was released in early 2015. Since Making a Murderer has been released it has gained a ton of positive reviews. Many people are comparing it to the HBO series The Jinx and the hit podcast Serial. However, the documentary series has generated a ton of controversy in Maintowoc County, Wisconsin where the documentary is set. What is Making a Murderer About? Making a Murderer surrounds the life of Steven Avery, a poor Wisconsin man who served 18 years in prison after being convicted of rape and other charges associated with a fight with his cousin. However, DNA analysis later linked the sexual assault to another man guilty of several other crimes in Maintowoc County. Following the DNA analysis, Avery was then released. Following his release Avery filed a $36 million dollar lawsuit, $2 million dollars for every year he was locked in prison. But, only a few weeks into the lawsuit, Avery was accused of the murder of Teresa Halbach, a photographer who was last seen on the Avery family property to photograph a minivan. Through the course of 10 episodes, and nearly 10 hours of documentarian footage, Making a Murderer illustrates the actions that the Manitowoc County sherriff's department did that put Avery in jail and ultimately locked in prison for murder. Brendan Dassey, Avery's nephew, who was allegedly tricked into a confession, was also accused in the murder investigation. Dassey's murder investigation is also depicted in the documentary. Here is the main group of people associated in Making of a Murderer: Avery family Steven Avery – Defendant, convicted of Halbach's killing Allan Avery – Steven Avery's father Dolores Avery – Steven Avery's mother Chuck Avery – Steven Avery's brother Brendan Dassey – Defendant, Avery's nephew, convicted of assisting Avery in Halbach's murder Bobby Dassey - Brendan Dassey's brother Barb Tadych – Brendan Dassey's mother and Steven Avery's sister Scott Tadych - Brendan Dassey's stepfather, Barb Tadych's husband Victim Teresa Halbach – Murder victim, photographer Defense lawyers Len Kachinsky – Lawyer, Brendan Dassey's first lawyer Dean Strang – Lawyer for Steven Avery Jerry Buting – Lawyer for Steven Avery Steven Drizin – Lawyer for Brendan Dassey, post-conviction Robert Dvorak – Lawyer for Brendan Dassey, post-conviction Laura Nirider – Lawyer for Brendan Dassey, post-conviction Prosecution and judges Ken Kratz – Special prosecutor, district attorney of Calumet County, Wisconsin Patrick Willis – Judge in Avery's trial. Denis Vogel – Manitowoc County District Attorney, prosecuted Avery's sexual assault case Peg Lautenschlager – Wisconsin Attorney General Law enforcement James Lenk – Lieutenant with the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department Andrew Colborn – Sergeant with the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department. Kenneth Peterson – Manitowoc County Sheriff during Halbach's murder Tom Fassbender – Investigator with the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation Mark Wiegert – Sergeant with the Calumet County Sheriff's Department Gregory Allen – Committed crimes Avery was wrongfully convicted of Gene Kusche – Manitowoc County Chief Deputy Sheriff Tom Kocourek – Manitowoc County Sheriff in the 1980s Judy Dvorak – Deputy with the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department Who created Making of a Murderer? The series was filmed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, who met while in film school in 2005. The two aspiring filmmakers learned about the Avery case after reading an article in the New York Times. It was at this point that the two Columbia University graduate students were interested in making a documentary. However, before meeting with Netflix and landing a major deal with the streaming network, the two met with executives at PBS and HBO, but neither network was interested in picking up the project. In fact, Netflix enjoyed the documentary so much they expanded the original order of episodes from 8 to 10. What do people think of Steven Avery and Making of a Murderer? The series was extremely popular with critics who praised how well the documentary went into detail with the Steven Avery case. On Rotten Tomatoes, the review aggregator website, currently lists the documentary with a 96% approval rating with the consensus saying: "Making a Murderer is a spellbinding slow burn that effectively utilizes the documentary format to tell a twisty mystery." But, not everyone enjoyed watching the program. In fact, in an interview with the Manitowoc Herald Times Sheriff Robert Hermann criticized the series for being biased and "Skewed." Hermann later said that he had not watched the series. Ken Kratz, the former Calumet County district attorney who prosecuted Avery, stated that he had not been able to give his side of the story. The creators would later deny this claim arguing they gave prosecutors an opportunity to answer questions, and that they provided information relating to the state's key evidence. Kratz would later argue that Demos and Ricciardi, in 2013, denied him the chance to get interviewed for the production. In addition, Kratz has issued statements aruing what the Netflix documentary left out key pieces of evidence against Steven Avery. Making a Murderer - Is Steven Avery guilty? Steven Avery "targeted" Teresa Halbach According to an interview with Kratz, here is a break down of the evidence that Netflix did not show in the documentary. Kratz says Avery "Targeted" Halbach. For example, Kratz argues that when Avery first met Halbach he allegedly opened his door "just wearing a towel." He cites Halbach's Oct. 10, 2005 visit to the property owned by Avery's family for a photo shoot for AutoTrader magazine: According to Kratz, Avery allegedly opened his door "just wearing a towel." "She [went to her employer and] said she would not go back because she was scared of him." "She [went to her employer and] said she would not go back because she was scared of him." In addition, the day Halbach was killed, Kratz says Avery called AutoTrader magazine and asked them to send "that same girl who was here last time." He argues that Avery new Halbach was scared of him, so he gave his sister's name and number to "trick" Halbach into coming. "Phone records show three calls from Avery to Teresa's cell phone on Oct. 31," says Kratz. "One at 2:24 [p.m.], and one at 2:35 – both calls Avery uses the *67 feature so Teresa doesn't know it him...both placed before she arrives. Making a Murderer - Steven Avery's alleged "torture chamber" While serving time in prison for rape that he was later cleared of, Kratz says Avery allegedly "told another inmate of his intent to build a 'torture chamber' so he could rape, torture and kill young women when he was released." Kratz adds, "He even drew a diagram." In addition, Avery allegedly told another inmate the best way to get rid of a body is to "burn it". Making a Murderer - What happened to Ken Kratz? Ken Kratz later retired from his position as Calumet Country District Attorney in 2010 following a sexting scandal, where he admitted he sent suggestive messages to a crime victim. In addition, he says he had a prescription drug problem at the time. But, Kratz firmly believes that he should not be mischaracterized in the film just for sexting a domestic violence victim saying, "[Halbach's murder] was planned weeks ahead of time," says Kratz. "[Avery] asked for that same girl to be sent. He was ready for her." What about the Avery Family? Since the release of Netflix Making of a Murderer the Avery family has said, "saddened to learn that individuals and corporations continue to create entertainment and to seek profit from their loss". What do you think of Netflix's Making of a Murderer? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

Here's the latest news surrounding Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater shooting. Three people were killed and seven people were injured after a gunman opened fire at the Grand Theatre in Lafayette, Louisiana Thursday night during a screening of Trainwreck.  According to reports, those injured range in age from teens to early 60s. Police arrived while the shooting was occurring, and police have shut down the other Grand Theatre in town and deployed police to other theaters. Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said he believed the gunman, a 58-year-old whiet male, was sitting in the theater alone when he opened fire with a handgun. According to the Associated Press, the shooter's car was identified at the theater and the area was evacuated after a suspicious package was spotted. The shooter is identified as John Russell Houser. Houser is from Phoenix City, Alabama, and has no known connection to Lafayette, police said. Houser was described as a drifter by police, who said he had likely been in Lafayette since early July. [ABC News] [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="516"] (Twitter/@TreylanJ_)[/caption] Craft said police are not sure if the shooting was planned or orchestrated. Authorities think he acted alone. Moviegoer Katie Domingue told The Advertiser that the shooting occurred about 20 minutes into Trainwreck. "We heard a loud pop we thought was a firecracker," she said. She saw an older, white man and said he was the shooter. "He wasn't saying anything. I didn't hear anybody screaming either," Domingue said. "Troopers are working closely with the Lafayette Police Department as well as numerous other agencies to provide assistance and investigate the shooting incident at the Grand Theater," police said in a Facebook post. "Please keep the families of the victims in your thoughts and prayers." Gov. Bobby Jindal said in a press conference in Lafayette that, "Lafayette is a strong community. We will get through this." Jindal also said that two teachers were shot inside the theater, with one shielding the other from a gunshot wound to the head, and one proceeded to pull the fire alarm. A GoFundMe page has started to raise money for the teachers' medical records. The Louisiana State Police released a statement on Facebook around 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening: "Troopers are working closely with the Lafayette Police Department as well as numerous other agencies to provide assistance and investigate the shooting incident at the Grande Theater. Please keep the families of the victims in your thoughts and prayers." Trainwreck star Amy Schumer tweeted, "My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana." Here are 3 things you should know about the Lafayette Louisiana Shooting. 1. The gunman killed himself after police entered the movie theater. 2.
