<h2>What We Know About the &lsquo;Teen Wolf&rsquo; Revival Movie</h2>
It's time to put the pack back together! After four years, the cast of Teen Wolf will reunite for a feature film sequel.
Even though it took a few years to get back to the narrative, creator Jeff Davis has had ideas for revisiting the Teen Wolf universe since its 2017 conclusion.
"That was very specific. We didn't want a finale that said 'the end.' We wanted it to be an, 'and the adventure continues&hellip;' I like imagining that they're going off to continue the fight," Davis explained to&nbsp;Entertainment Weekly&nbsp;in September 2017 about choosing not to wrap up every detail. "I didn't want to see an end where they all have children, and they're happy and at home. That felt anticlimactic to me."
The sequel picks up after the season finale, in which Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his pals complete their goal to save Beacon Hills.
"A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it, a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night," the press release for the film revealed. "But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they've ever faced."
Posey, urging Teen Wolf to be resurrected in some form for years, revealed that he was "thrilled" to reprise his role a few years after the series conclusion.
"I think what I'm most excited for is to see them age. We were in high school for what seemed like ten years," the&nbsp;Scream: Resurrection&nbsp;alum jokingly told&nbsp;EW&nbsp;in October 2021. "I'm excited to see them age and get out of high school. High school was such a character in itself on the show, so I'm excited to see how it's going to be without that sort of character of a school involved. It will be interesting."
The musician explained that the MTV series could make such an impression because of the characters who joined the audience on each trip.
"What really carried the show were the relationships, mostly between my character and&nbsp;Dylan O'Brien's&nbsp;character, Stiles. That to me is what really carried the show and what made people fall in love with it," Posey added at the time. "And then we got to have a lot of fun on top of that with the supernatural element, the romantic element, the horror. I think as long as we have the element of a really great relationship, whether it's friends or romantic, then everything else kind of falls into place."
It will be airing on a new network
The film, written by Davis, is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ in 2022.
<h2>Who Is Coming Back</h2>
In February 2022, Paramount+ announced that Crystal Reed (Allison Argent), Holland Roden (Lydia Martin), Shelley Hennig (Malia Tate), Orny Adams (Coach Bobby Finstock, Mayor Caryokersky), and JR Bourne would star in the series.
Colton Haynes (Jackson Whittemore), Ryan Kelley (Deputy Jordan Parrish), Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall), Seth Gilliam (Dr. Alan Deaton), and Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar) will also return for the next chapter of the hit series.
Not many actors have been cast, except Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale. Stiles Stilinski (O'Brien), Arden Cho (Kira Yukimura), and Tyler Hoechlin (Derek Hale) are not connected to the production.
In March 2022, Peter and Mason were recast with Ian Bohen as Peter and Khylin Rhambo as Mason. Vince Mattis, Nobi Nakanishi, and Amy Lin Workman were also cast in the series.

In December 2021, Paramount+ will offer all 100 episodes of the initial MTV series.
<h2>Possible Appearances of Surprises</h2>
During an interview with TVLine in March 2022, Bohen stated that he remains optimistic about Derek and Peter's return.
"We would love to do that together, and I can absolutely see a world where we are reunited," he said at the time. "I know they're shooting here pretty soon, so you will have a definite yea or nay forthcoming for certain. But I feel positive about it. I wouldn't want to see a movie where Derek and Peter weren't in it."
Dylan O'Brien Is Out for the Season
"The show couldn't be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did I, and so many people there are extremely dear to me," the actor told&nbsp;Variety&nbsp;in March 2022. "It was something I was trying to make work, but it all happened very fast. We didn't really know that it was happening, and they kind of just threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all love the show. We were trying to figure it out."
According to O'Brien, he ultimately decided against returning to his Teen Wolf role because of the conclusion of the series. "I just decided it was left in a really good place for me, and I still want to leave it there," he continued. "I'm going to watch it the first night it comes out. I hope it f--king kicks ass, but I'm not going to be in it."
<h2>Back on Set!</h2>
The cast has officially begun filming, according to Paramount. In March 2022, the company revealed that filming had begun and shared photos from the start of production. "Howling at this photo dump of Day 1 on the #TeenWolfMovie set," the streaming platform wrote via Instagram. The pics included Posey wearing a leather jacket standing next to a video prompter.&nbsp;

2-4 M/F (age 20-30) ensemble members/stagehands for both speaking and non-speaking roles.
Must be comfortable quickly and safely maneuvering set pieces off and on stage, and occasionally moving limp, deadweight actors on and off stage. 
For dialogue roles, preference will be given towards fit/muscular types. Open to newer faces looking to have fun and be part of a hit show.

Prior to the Paris Attacks, there was a major Black Lives Matter movement quickly gaining traction throughout the United States. But, after the shooting of an unarmed handcuffed African American man by police, the Black Lives Matter is resurging throughout the country especially in Minneapolis.

According to reports, The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division were called to Minneapolis less than two days after Jamar Clark was allegedly arrested and then shot by police. Witnesses say the man was already handcuffed when he was shot by an office, but police say he was not.

Clark later died on Monday night after he was taken off life support, according to&nbsp;a<a href="https://twitter.com/BlackLivesMpls/status/666465043794497537" target="_blank"> tweet from the Minneapolis Black Lives Matter organization.</a> Protestors are calling Clark's death a "murder" and are demanding the &nbsp;officer involved be identified and criminally charged.

Police told the minneapolis Star-Tribune Clark was suspected in an aassault, and was interfering with emergency workers trying to provide assistance the victim. He was shot during a physical struggle, according to police.

However, witnesses say Clark was not resisting arrest and was laying on the ground when he was shot, according to the NAACP.

The names of the officers have not been made public. But, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges said at a press conference&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/StribJany/status/666385883503837185" target="_blank">Monday </a>she has asked the federal Department of Justice&#146;s Civil Rights Division to also investigate the shooting. Since then, protestors have joined together to protest the Clark shooting. That's when Jack Highberger, a TV reporter in Minneapolis, was arrested Monday night while covering a Black Lives Matter protest that had shut down a major highway.

The station reported Highberger was charged with unlawful assembly and released four hours later. Towards&nbsp;end of the night, Highberger<a href="https://www.facebook.com/419407494787984/videos/981050458623682/" target="_blank"> wrote on Facebook</a>: "Like all the other journalists on the side of I-94 Monday night, I was there for one reason. To do my job. I have no intention of stopping."

The arrest draws similarities to the Ferguson, Missouri protests which occured last year, when several journalists were taken into custody. The arrests were denounced by press groups, and resulting cases are still under way.

News Reporter Arrested Covering Black Lives Matter Protest

<h2>Michael B. Jordan's acting career is in trouble after fans call out the actor for posting a controversial #AllLivesMatter video.</h2>
Michael B. Jordan was forced to write an open letter addressing his views on the Black Lives Matter movement in an attempt to clear the air following recent criticism from an alleged video where he said "All lives matter."

Jordan has recently taken a significant amount of heat on Black Twitter in response to an alleged Snapchat video where he says that "All lives matter." Comments about the reported video is the latest criticism of what fans perceive as Jordan seeing no importance in color. He recently received even more pressure from the black community for GQ interview where he said he&nbsp;"wanted to go for roles written for white characters."

Michael B. Jordan revealed&nbsp;that the messages he was sending through social media and in interviews have clouded his true opinion. He stated that he valued playing Black characters including Oscar Grant in&nbsp;Fruitvale Station.

"...in addition to those wonderful roles, I also want to have the option to play all kinds of parts with no door closed to actors and actresses like myself," added Jordan. "My goal is for my choices and opportunities, as well as those of my fellow actors and actresses of color, to be predicated on our talent, ability and passion and not on false notions of what color an artist must be to play certain roles."

The actor, who is set to star in the upcoming boxing drama&nbsp;Creed,&nbsp;also took the time to address the Kendall Jenner rumors and apologized for referring to women as "females" in his GQ interview.

"I deeply regret and am ashamed that I said anything to disappoint or disparage them. I apologize with my whole heart for referring to women in the way that I did. The word 'female' used in the manner that I did is dismissive and strips women of their humanity ... But words have power and I realize now more than ever that this careless language is dehumanizing, inappropriate, and immature. I'm a better man than that. This reference to women will not come out of my mouth publicly or in private again."

His new comedy tour, Conspiracy Theory, starts next month in South Carolina, in the middle of an American racial divide, and apparently, the comedian is not holding back.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian bashed #BlackLivesMatter, Donald Trump, and Kim Davis.

Katt Williams has been a lot of trouble lately and is no stranger to controversy. On October 29, 2014, Williams and <a title="Suge Knight" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suge_Knight">Suge Knight</a> were arrested for the theft of a camera from a female photographer in an incident which occurred in <a class="mw-redirect" title="Beverly Hills" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverly_Hills">Beverly Hills</a> on September 5. The year before that, on January 8, 2013, he was arrested at his LA home after a warrant was issued for failing to appear in Sacramento County Court on charges of driving in a reckless manner from the November 25 incident in which he allegedly drove a three-wheeled motorbike on a sidewalk and failed to stop for police.

<h2>Did NBC try to silence Janelle Monae and the Black Lives Matter speech?</h2>
During a Friday performance on the Today show, Janelle Monae was cut off as she was speaking about the current Black Lives Matter movement. At the end of her performance of “<a href="http://themuse.jezebel.com/y-n-janelle-monaes-new-protest-anthem-is-so-good-it-hu-1723899599" target="_blank">Hell You Talmbou</a>” — a protest song dedicated to the movement — Monae began to speak about police brutality: “God bless all the lives lost to police brutality. We want white America to know that we stand tall today. We want black America to know we stand tall today. We will not be silenced...”

The camera then panned away and an anchor spoke over Monae as she continued. The show cut to commercial moments after Monae said "silenced."

The entire situation was extremely awkward and many people are wondering if Today purposefully cut off Monae.

The aftershocks of the Michael Brown shooting are still being felt throughout the state of Missouri. The ongoing protests over the death of Michael Brown made a quick appearance during the second half of the St. Louis Rams' game on Monday night.

ESPN Ignores Ferguson Protestors During Monday Night Football

<h2 class="p1">In an interview with the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/16/arts/television/chris-rock-fargo.html">New York Times</a>, <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/chris-rock/">Chris Rock</a> discussed everything for President Trump to the killing of <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/george-floyd/">George Floyd.</a></h2>
Rock recently performed standup for a socially distant audience as part of Dave Chappelle’s outdoor comedy series where he talked about our current political climate.
“Part of the reason we’re in the predicament we’re in is, the president’s a landlord. No one has less compassion for humans than a landlord. And we’re shocked he’s not engaged.” 
Chris Rock equally lambasted Democrats. 
“Did you ever see that movie The Last Emperor, where like a 5-year-old is the emperor of China? There’s a kid and he’s the king. So I’m like, it’s all the Democrats’ fault. Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old. And when the emperor’s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There’s usually an adult who’s like, ‘OK, this is what we’re really going to do.’ And it was totally up to [Nancy] Pelosi and the Democrats,” he said. “Their thing was, ‘We’re going to get him impeached,’ which was never going to happen. You let the pandemic come in. Yes, we can blame Trump, but he’s really the 5-year-old.”
Rock added, “Put it this way: Republicans tell outright lies. Democrats leave out key pieces of the truth that would lead to a more nuanced argument. In a sense, it’s all fake news.”
Chris Rock noted the civil rights movement of the 50s and 60s missed economic equality in their quest for humanity.
“Dr. King and those guys were amazing. But they knew nothing about money. They didn’t ask for anything. At the end of the day, the things we got — it was just, hey, can you guys be humane? All we got was, like, humanity. If they had it to do all over again, in hindsight, there would be some attention paid to the financial disparity of all the years of — let’s not even count slavery, let’s just count Jim Crow,” Rock explained.
“You’re talking about a system that really didn’t end until about 1973. And I’m born in ’65 in South Carolina. I’m probably in a segregated wing of a hospital — there’s no way in the world I was next to a white baby. Even if the hospital wasn’t segregated, I was in a whole other room and that room didn’t have the good milk and the good sheets. My parents couldn’t own property in certain neighborhoods when I was born. There was an economic disparity there, and that was not addressed in the original civil rights movement. It was a huge oversight. So there’s no money and there’s no land. If you don’t have either one of those, you don’t really have much.”
Rock also talked about racism and how things have not changed.
“[Racism] is real. It’s not going away. I said this before, but Obama becoming the president, it’s progress for white people. It’s not progress for Black people,” Rock replied.
“It’s the Jackie Robinson thing. It’s written like he broke a barrier, as if there weren’t Black people that could play before him. And that’s how white people have learned about racism,” he shared. “They think, when these people work hard enough, they’ll be like Jackie. And the real narrative should be that these people, the Black people, are being abused by a group of people that are mentally handicapped. And we’re trying to get them past their mental handicaps to see that all people are equal.”
Rock continued, “Humanity isn’t progress — it’s only progress for the person that’s taking your humanity. If a woman’s in an abusive relationship and her husband stops beating her, you wouldn’t say she’s made progress, right? But that’s what we do with Black people. We’re constantly told that we’re making progress. The relationship we’re in — the arranged marriage that we’re in — it’s that we’re getting beat less.”
Rock was asked about Jimmy Fallon’s clip, which showed the late-night host in blackface.
“Hey, man, I’m friends with Jimmy. Jimmy’s a great guy. And he didn’t mean anything,” Rock replied. “A lot of people want to say intention doesn’t matter, but it does. And I don’t think Jimmy Fallon intended to hurt me. And he didn’t.”
“There’s been a wider push to expunge blackface from any movies or TV shows where it previously appeared. Have people taken it too far?” the Times asked.
“If I say they are, then I’m the worst guy in the world. There’s literally one answer that ends my whole career,” Rock replied. “Blackface ain’t cool, OK? That’s my quote. Blackface is bad. Who needs it? It’s so sad, we live in a world now where you have to say, I am so against cancer. ‘I just assumed you liked cancer.’ No, no, no, I am so against it. You have to state so many obvious things you’re against.”

Chris Rock Addresses President Trump, Racism, and Coronavirus

[&#8230;] Boyega recently called out Disney for pushing his ‘Star Wars’ character aside. In an open interview with GQ, Boygea suggested his fellow diverse central cast members, including [&#8230;]

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/john-boyega/">John Boyega</a> calls <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars/">Star Wars</a> out for marketing a Black character to only push them out.</h2>
The latest Star Wars trilogy has come under fire since the franchise debuted. One of those people upset with the franchise is the movie’s leading man, John Boyega. 
Since the trailer was released and we saw Boyega as a Storm Trooper, Boyega became a star. Not only was the first Black leading actor of the Star Wars universe, but he had the acting chops that encouraged you to cheer him on from the theater seats.
After The Force Awakens ended, many assumed Finn’s storyline was going to be important in the future of Star Wars. John Boyega was under the same impression until the sequels started production.
In an open interview with GQ, Boygea suggested his fellow diverse central cast members, including Naomi Ackie, Kelly Marie Tran, and Oscar Isaac, all had the same experience.
“You get yourself involved in projects, and you’re not necessarily going to like everything. [But] what I would say to Disney is do not bring out a black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are, and then have them pushed to the side. It’s not good. I’ll say it straight up,” commented Boyega.
Boyega also cared about his costars being heard and seen. 
“You knew what to do with these other people, but when it came to Kelly Marie Tran, when it came to John Boyega, you know fuck all,” he continued. “So what do you want me to say? What they want you to say is, ‘I enjoyed being a part of it. It was a great experience…’ Nah, nah, nah. I’ll take that deal when it’s a great experience.”
He added that some of the film’s white cast members did not suffer the same underwriting, “They gave all the nuance to Adam Driver, all the nuance to Daisy Ridley. Let’s be honest. Daisy knows this. Adam knows this. Everybody knows. I’m not exposing anything.”
Boyega continued speaking on how being Black affected the Star Wars storyline. “I’m the only cast member who had their own unique experience of that franchise based on their race… It makes you angry with a process like that. It makes you much more militant; it changes you. Because you realize, ‘I got given this opportunity, but I’m in an industry that wasn’t even ready for me.’...Nobody else in the cast had people saying they were going to boycott the movie because [they were in it]. Nobody else had the uproar and death threats sent to their Instagram DMs and social media, saying, ‘Black this and black that and you shouldn’t be a Stormtrooper.’ Nobody else had that experience. But yet people are surprised that I’m this way. That’s my frustration.”
Finn’s character does not have much of a backstory or a character arc throughout the sequels. That said, Boyega does not call out anyone specifically and even praises JJ Abrams, mentioning he only came back to save Disney after The Last Jedi backlash. However, it is frustrating that we get this fantastic character and then get nothing much out of the storyline. 
Boyega will star in an upcoming Steve McQueen project, and he will have his own production company, so it will be interesting to see what projects he develops for himself and others. 
This news comes after <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/news/john-boyega-speech/">John Boyega gave an incredible Black Lives Matter speech. </a>Boyega attended a protest in London’s Hyde Park, where he delivered an emotional speech putting the movement over his acting career.
“Black lives have always mattered,” Boyega said. “We have always been important. We have always meant something. We have always succeeded regardless. And now is the time. I ain’t waiting.”
“Every black person understands and realizes the first time you are reminded that you are black,” Boyega added, occasionally stopping to fight back tears during the speech. “You remember. Every black person in here remembers when another person reminded you that you were black.”
 “Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but f*** that,” referencing his acting career and relationships in Hollywood.

John Boyega Calls Disney Out for Pushing 'Star Wars' Black Role Aside

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/octavia-spencer/">Octavia Spencer</a> on <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/black-lives-matter/">Black Lives Matter</a>, <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/hollywood/">Hollywood</a>, and getting paid what she deserves.</h2>
Octavia Spencer, 48, won an Oscar in 2012 and nominated twice since then. She has also won a Golden Globe award, several SAG awards, and was recently nominated for her first Emmy. However, Spencer says Hollywood does not fairly pay her. 

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Spencer says her ability to walk away from roles has been an essential tool to getting higher compensation but, it's not enough.

"Oh, I haven't gotten paid what I feel I deserve. Not yet," she clarified. "But I always get a raise. Every single job, I get a raise. I don't think any woman has really gotten what she deserves. But when I ask for something and they don't meet it, I'm always willing to walk away."

"What would you say to women, and perhaps Black women especially, who may not feel that they're in a position to turn down professional opportunities?" THR asked.

"I haven't always been in this position; there were times when I had to take what was being offered. But I can guaran-damn-tee you that my agent always made sure I got a raise," Spencer replied. "Always advance your position. Always. Sometimes it means, 'Hey, I'm sorry, if I'm not getting what I need, then I'm going to have to move on to a place that does value me.'"

Spencer continued, "When you are starting out, show how hard you work. There's always room for advancement. Educate yourself on what everybody else in the market is getting, and then you ask for what you deserve. You're not always going to get it, but you also have to be willing to walk away at some point."

When asked about the Black Lives Matter movement, Spencer says Hollywood has to do more.

"It began before us — it's about equal protection under the law and to be seen as human beings. That's the struggle. I think entertainment should be an example," she explained. "There is value in telling stories that we haven't heard from marginalized and underserved communities. I think Hollywood has for too long regurgitated things, and now it's time to tell new and fresh stories. Representation matters. When you see a representation of yourself onscreen, it's not just for you, it's for the world at large, so that you can be visible. It's important to be seen and heard."

Spencer received an Emmy nomination for the Netflix series Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker. She grew up inspired by the businesswoman, who is known as America's first self-made female millionaire. 

"The fact that this woman, who was born the first free person in her home post-slavery, was able to achieve so much when the world told her that she had no value — that's what my mother used as the example," Spencer told THR. "Your station in life does not dictate your path or your destiny."

Algee Smith opened up about the pressure of portraying such roles in the movies ‘Detroit’ and ‘The Hate U Give’, each movie shows extreme violence against Black people.
“I was obviously in a very emotional place. However, it was a very honest place,” Smith recalled. “I feel like I’ve played so many roles where I’ve either died as a young black teenager or where it’s been something that hasn’t been edifying a black teenager or a black man at all. And so, I was like, for myself, I’m tired of playing those roles and I said ‘I’m done with it.’”

Octavia Spencer on Hollywood: "I haven't gotten paid what I feel I deserve"

<h2 class="p1"><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/ryan-reynolds/">Ryan Reynolds</a> is using his celebrity status to create an on-set film production diversity program for marginalized communities.</h2>
The “Deadpool” actor announced plans on Friday for the Group Effort Initiative, which will recruit 10 to 20 trainees from Black, Indigenous, and other “marginalized communities” to work alongside experienced filmmakers on his next movie.
Reynolds says in a statement, “Making a film is a group effort, but for entirely too long that group has systemically excluded Black, Indigenous, people of color and several other marginalized communities. This is a global problem that will not be fixed overnight, but change can start locally and immediately.”
He added, “Covid-willing, we’ll be starting a movie this fall. We’ll be bringing on between 10 and 20 trainees who are Black, Indigenous, people of color or people from marginalized and excluded communities. Of all ages. These new recruits will be paid and housed out of my salary and will spend their days on set learning from professionals and getting real-life experience that they can then parlay into another job and another job and hopefully a career in the film industry.”
Reynolds did not reveal the name of the film in a video posted on social media, but he confirmed the production is set to begin shooting this fall and the program is in partnership with Netflix and SkyDance.
Reynolds says expenses for trainees including pay, housing, and travel will come out of his salary. The Group Effort Initiative will work through Reynold’s Maximum Effort production company. Reynolds called on other Hollywood stars “with the privilege that I’m lucky enough to experience” to join his initiative to expand diversity and inclusivity in the film industry.

Imagine Impact from Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s production company, is looking for submissions as part of their deal with Netflix. The open submissions are looking to identify and help develop feature film ideas in four different genres, over the next year. The first four genre-specific application windows open Wednesday. The first round of projects is considered “large scale action-adventure movies for all audiences.” Applications will be accepted now until July 6th.

“I was obviously in a very emotional place. However, it was a very honest place,” Smith recalled. “I feel like I’ve played so many roles where I’ve either died as a young black teenager or where it’s been something that hasn’t been edifying a black teenager or a black man at all. And so, I was like, for myself, I’m tired of playing those roles and I said ‘I’m done with it.’”
“I had to take Ambien while I was shooting Detroit because I couldn’t sleep,” he continued. “But you do it for a reason. That’s why we are actors, that’s why we put ourselves in that position, to feel for people.”
“My frustration with the industry was that what was normal and what was actually real was not being portrayed. A small percentage of what the Black culture experiences was being portrayed to the masses as the totality of our definition as a culture,” Hodge said. “It was really disheartening. So, I said, ‘Look, I’m not doing any of this anymore.’ Took a stance. Of course, you lose a couple of jobs, you sacrifice a little bit, [but] it’s all good, because it pushes your career, drives your career to a very specific point.”
“And then, as I got older, there are opportunities that came my way that were challenging,” he says. “When Underground came around, and I said, ‘How do we watch five or six seasons of our pain?’ But then, when I read it, and I saw how it was distributed and I said, “Oh, there’s a difference here,’” Hodge continued.
Luke admitted the idea of playing a slave was tough for him in the TV series ‘Underground’.
“I said I would never play a slave,” Luke said. “My instinct was that it was traumatic enough being in my skin. It was traumatic enough coming to Hollywood and having to come through playing a thug or a gangster role and my spiritual lens was always like, ‘How do I navigate in a space that may reject my race?’”
Meanwhile, Chaulk noted that if actors do not take these roles, we run the risk of Hollywood perpetuating the stereotypes without Black actors. 
“I was doing some workshops in a school, and the [history] book never said ‘slavery,’ it said ‘indentured servitude.’ So, if we don’t tell our story, they’re going to change that story,” Chalk said. “I want the world to see what we have survived. I want the world to know the knees on our neck. And I’m grateful to take the weight of that.”
