J.J. Abrams sends terminally ill fan a private screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens'
When the news broke that a terminally ill Star Wars
fan named Daniel Fleetwood wouldn't live long enough to see the film's official release in theaters. His story went viral garnering the attention and the leader of Star Wars himself, JJ Abrams.
Luckily, the #ForceForDaniel movement was so strong that it reached J.J. Abrams who, much like he did with Star Trek Into Darkness,
arranged for a private screening of the movie for Daniel.
According to The Verge, Fleetwood's girlfriend posted a note on Facebook that confirmed the news, saying that Abrams called them and informed them that the movie was on its way.
Mark Hamill also showed his appreciation on Twitter. It is important to note that this would not have gotten as much attention if Hamilll would not have been an active supporter of showing the movie to Daniel.
