But, Mark Hamill says that people have extremely high expectations and should really lower them.

“Believe me, it will be here before you know it,” he said to the fans who are really excited about the movie. “Forget about it, that’s my advice. Look forward to all the summer movies. I’m telling you, it’s just a movie. These people that build it up in their minds like it’s going to be the second coming of, I don’t know what — they’re bound to be disappointed.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th 2015 and also sees returning stars Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) joined by Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year), Andy Serkis (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina), John Boyega (Attack the Block) Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Miltos Yerolemou (Game of Thrones), Max von Sydow (The Exorcist), Jessica Henwick (Spirit Warriors), Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day) and newcomers Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen.

Luke Skywalker Tells Fans to Lower their 'Star Wars Episode 7' Expectations

<h2>Disney wasn't interested in using any of George Lucas' ideas for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII movie.</h2>
Earlier this week, George Lucas revealed that the only regret that he had about his iconic&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;series was that he never had that amazing first impression that millions of people and later fans had.

Recently, the billionaire was doing media rounds for his new animated musical&nbsp;Strange Music,&nbsp;and during a recent interview with Cinema Blend George Lucas revealed that Disney didn't use any of his ideas for the new&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;movie, Star Wars: Episode 7.&nbsp;Ultimately, it seems that JJ Abrams and decided to make&nbsp;The Force Awakens&nbsp;completely George Lucas free.

However, we will not learn about George Lucas early ideas for his&nbsp;Star Wars: Episode 7&nbsp;script, but there are a few things we can decipher. An interview with Mark Hamill from 1983 revealed footage of Luke Skywalker talking about how George Lucas approached him about playing an Obi-wan-type character in a potential sequel and passing the torch to another generation of Jedi.

In Star Wars Episode VII, Oscar Isaac will portray an X-Wing pilot named Poe Dameron, John Boyega will play a fleeing Stormtrooper (or, more likely, someone disguised as a Stormtrooper), Daisy Ridley will play someone named Rey who knows how to ride a Speeder, and there will be a new Sith named Kylo Ren and a new droid named BB-8. That is only the tip of the iceberg of all the new cast and crew making an appearance in the new Star Wars movie.

<h2>'Star Wars: Episode VII' finishes filming in Pinewood Studios in London, cast and crew dance the night away&nbsp;in final wrap party</h2>
The Star Wars: Episode VII cast and crew traveled to the London's Science Museum Saturday night for the final wrap party.

J.J. Abrams, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford,Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis and&nbsp;John Boyega were all there and Boyega even shared several images and videos on Instagram of the wrap party.

A note signed by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and producer Bryan Burk was photographed and posted on Twitter thanking the cast and crew for their work in Star Wars: Episode VII.

"We are here to make a film that entertains millions of people, of all ages, for generations. To create an experience people will cherish watching as much as we will cherish having made it, together," it read.

"From the deserts of Abu Dhabi, to the Forest of Dean, to the stages of Pinewood, you have risen to every challenge and been as wonderfully kind as you are brilliantly talented," it continued.

According to <a href="https://deadline.com/2020/06/mark-hamill-joe-biden-2020-presidential-race-1202961982/">Deadline</a>, ‘Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill will headline an upcoming virtual fundraiser for Joe Biden on June 30th. It is one of several upcoming events the Biden campaign has to raise money for the political campaign.
Deadline reports Hamill will moderate a “virtual conversation about hope and democracy.” Tickets start at $500 per person and reach $100,000 for those who want to be listed as co-chairs in the virtual event. The proceeds will go towards the Biden campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Next week, Biden will raise money with former President Barack Obama, where prices start at $15 per person. 
Earlier this week the Biden Victory Fund has raised $80.9 million in May, even though the Coronavirus COVID-19 has created a paradigm shift in political fundraising campaigns. Last week, Biden held a fundraiser featuring several celebrities including John Legend, Jay Leno, Jennifer Hudson, and Barbra Streisand.

'Star Wars' Mark Hamill Will Headline Joe Biden Presidential Campaign Fundraiser

<h2 class="p1">Actor <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/mark-hamill/">Mark Hamill</a> reveals his time on the ‘<a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars/">Star Wars</a>’ franchise is officially over.</h2>
In an interview with <a href="https://ew.com/movies/mark-hamill-star-wars-time-over/">EW</a>, the actor discussed why he is saying goodbye to the iconic Star Wars character but remains excited about the future of the franchise.
"Oh, I can't imagine that, no," Hamill tells EW exclusively about whether or not he'd consider playing in the Star Wars universe again if the situation was right. "I had a beginning, middle, and end. Those films gave me far more than I ever expected when we started out so it's never even occurred to me. My farewell was in <a href="https://ew.com/creative-work/star-wars-rise-of-skywalker/">Episode IX</a> and it was bittersweet. I love all those people and I certainly have affection for George and the character he created. I'm full of gratitude for what it has given me and my career but I don't want to be greedy. There are still so many more stories to tell and so many great actors to tell them, they don't need me."
Hamill may have said his final farewell to Luke Skywalker and explains why the franchise’s change with the Disney+ series ‘The Mandalorian’ is a great idea.
"I think they have a wonderful advantage on The Mandalorian in that it's economical storytelling. They don't have the burden of delivering a gigantic special effects extravaganza like the films had to do," he explains. "It sort of gets back to the basics of George envisioning it as a western in space. It has that tone of a Sergio Leone Western. I'm very impressed with it and to me, a very smart move on their part because you can't keep trying to top...It's like the superhero movies that have to deliver these gargantuan epics. And with The Mandalorian, they can concentrate more on the characters and the storytelling. I think it's excellent."

Disney and Lucasfilm announced Taika Waititi will direct a new “Star Wars” movie, which he is writing with “1917” writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
The announcement confirms the news that broke in January which claimed Waititi was working on a new “Star Wars” movie, after directing the season finale of the Disney Plus series “The Mandalorian”.
At this time, it is unknown whether Waititi will direct a trilogy or if it is a separate project.
In a previous interview with <a href="https://variety.com/2020/film/news/taika-waititi-star-wars-1234597104/">Variety</a>, after winning the best-adapted screenplay Oscar for “Jojo Rabbit”, the director hinted at the possibility of making a “Star Wars” film.
“Are there discussions about the ‘Star Wars’ film? Like, yeah, I discussed with my friends in 1996 how cool ‘Star Wars’ was,” Waititi joked in February. “I think people see me hanging out with people, especially with ‘Star Wars,’ and think I’m having some big discussions about it. I would f—ing love to.…If it was right. I would want to do any kind of movie if it made sense, and if it felt not like career suicide.”

Mark Hamill Reveals Why He's Leaving Star Wars: "They Don't Need Me"

Leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, rumors of creative differences between Mark Hamill and director Rian Johnson started hitting the Internet. Fans of the franchise asked what could have gone so wrong for the actor that plays Luke Skywalker to question his big return? Now that the movie has hit theaters, we now know. Luke Skywalker is a broken man. He has given up as a Jedi and possibly using the Force. Ultimately, Luke Hamill didn’t agree with Luke becoming a more passive person.
During a press event, Hamill said that George Lucas would have never let this happen.

I mean even if he had a problem he would maybe take a year to try and regroup, but if he made a mistake he would try and right that wrong.’ So right there we had a fundamental difference, but it’s not my story anymore. Well in this version, see I’m talking about the George Lucas Star Wars. This is the next generation of Star Wars, so I almost had to think of Luke as another character. Maybe he is Jake Skywalker.
He’s not my Luke Skywalker, but I had to do what Rian wanted me to do because it serves the story well, but listen, I still haven’t accepted it completely. But it’s only a movie. I hope people like it. I hope they don’t get upset, and I came to really believe that Rian was the exact man that they need for this job.”

At least Hamill agrees that a change needed to happen to keep Star Wars franchise moving forward. The movie franchise is no longer about the Skywalker and is more about the Resistance.

Following Carrie Fisher revelation that she was forced to <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/casting-calls-acting-auditions/carrie-fisher-star-wars-weight-loss/">lose weight</a> for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mark Hamill revealed he was also pressured into dieting. As part of the cover story in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Mark Hamill also reveals that he changed his diet to get back into character of Luke Skywalker thirty years later.

Even the writer points out that Luke Hamill "seems to have lost a good 50 pounds," the 64-year-old actor shared his current diet. "Look at what I'm eating now instead of potato chips and bagels," he said, showing what's described by the magazine as a fruit and vegetable plate and adding, "I'm on the 'if it tastes good, don't eat it' diet." But he's not looking to be praised for his new look, saying that "implies that I looked so dreadful before!"

Mark Hamill also admitted that he was not sure about returning to Star Wars after so many years, saying that he initially hoped Harrison Ford would refuse to sign on as an excuse.

"That's our escape clause," he joked. "You know, if I'm the only one, I'll look terrible — but if he doesn't do it, I don't have to do it."

Mark Hamill Lost "50 Pounds" to Play the Role of Luke Skywalker

<h2>Mark Hamill wants a dying&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;fan to see&nbsp;The Force Awakens&nbsp;early.</h2>
Even though Mark Hamill may be playing an evil Luke Skywalker, he is a pretty good guy. Hamill has worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and now he's using his Twitter to get fan Daniel Fleetwood to see&nbsp;The Force Awakens&nbsp;before it hits theaters.

Fleetwood has terminal cancer and, as he told KPRC Houston,&nbsp;&#147;Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don&#146;t think that I&#146;ll be able to make it&#148; to the Dec. 18 release date.

In 2012, J.J. Abrams, the director of&nbsp;Star Wars: Force Awakens,&nbsp;the director screened a rough version of of&nbsp;Star Trek Into Darkness&nbsp;for several sick fans five months before the movie was released.
