'Baywatch' Movie is Ramping Up Production and Will Star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson

Dwayne Johnson will star in the upcoming 'Baywatch' movie

Producers are ramping up production on an upcoming 'Baywatch' movie. The new feature film will star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson taking David Hasselhoff's spot.
San Andreas Movie Jaguar PS / Paramount is moving forward with its big-screen adaptation of Baywatch and has loosely attachedDwayne Johnson for beach patrol duties. The studio also has hired Justin Malen to rewrite and has attached the hot comedy writing team of Sean Anders and John Morris (We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses 2) to direct. Johnson has long been rumored to head up a Baywatch movie, and the oft-shirtless star would seem a perfect fit for the action film that takes place along the perilous shores of Santa Monica.
The movie was supposed to center around a series of shark attacks that plague the beaches of Santa Monica which lead into a drug-smuggling operation. But, according to reports, the upcoming writer may change the plot to fit the ideas of Sean Anders and John Morris. Dwayne Johnson is quickly becoming the go-to actor for action movies. He has several feature films and a TV show lined up including HBO's new series 'Ballers', 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' sequels, and he will play 'Shazam' in an upcoming comic-book thriller.
