Casting Call: Black Male Singer for Historical Film Scene
Job Description: We are seeking a talented Black male singer to perform as the lead in a historical chain gang scene for an upcoming film production. The singer will lead a field holler, a type of vocal music associated with the toils of early African-American prison labor. This role requires a powerful voice capable of conveying the depth and emotion of traditional work songs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform as the lead singer in a chain gang scene, leading and coordinating with background performers.
- Participate in a pre-recording session to lay down vocal tracks.
- Work closely with the director and music coordinator to achieve the desired performance.
- Maintain professional demeanor and performance under potential outdoor, on-set conditions.
Requirements:
- Must be a Black male, 18 years or older.
- Strong singing ability with a powerful, emotive voice.
- Prior experience in musical performance is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work legally in the United States.
- Available for pre-recording on Friday, 4/26 and shooting on Monday, 4/29.
- Must be local to or able to travel to the Napoleonville, LA area for the shoot.
- Submit a headshot/full-body shot, contact information, and a sample of your singing.
Compensation Details:
- This is a paid opportunity.
- The role will be upgraded to a SAG (Screen Actors Guild) role, which includes union scale compensation and benefits.
- Specific compensation details will be provided upon selection.
