Casting Call for Dancers: Feature Film "Grilled Cheese" Directed by Ryan Coogler

Project Overview: "Grilled Cheese" is an upcoming film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ryan Coogler ("Black Panther," "Creed," "Fruitvale Station") and starring renowned actor Michael B. Jordan. Set in the 1930s, this project remains highly secretive about its plot. The film will be shot in and around New Orleans.

Roles Available: We are casting for Black men and women who are trained and/or professional dancers. Successful candidates will be auditioning in front of the distinguished choreographer Aakomon Jones, known for his work on "Black Panther," "Pitch Perfect," and "DreamGirls."

Dance Styles Required:

• Hip-Hop: Specifically Memphis Jookin and Breakdancing
• Tap Dancing
• Modern Dance
• Contemporary Dance
• Lindy Hop: 1930’s Juke Joint style
• Traditional African Cultural Dance (Poro)
• Irish Folk/Celtic Dance

Key Dates:

• Audition Date: May 9th
• Rehearsal Dates: May 13th to 17th and May 20th to 21st
• Shoot Date: May 22nd

Job Responsibilities:

• Learn and perform choreographed routines as directed by the choreographer.
• Participate actively in rehearsals and provide feedback to improve performances.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism on set and adhere to set protocols.
• Be prepared to adapt and modify dance movements as required by the director or choreographer.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a trained or professional dancer.
• Ability to learn and perform choreographed dance routines.
• Strong rhythmic skills and the ability to adapt to various dance styles.
• Reliable transportation to New Orleans and surrounding areas for the duration of the project.
• A video reel or past performance clips showcasing dance abilities (required for audition consideration).

• This position is compensated according to the SAG-AFTRA agreement.
