HBO Facebook drama series is coming soon called 'Doomsday Machine' HBO is one of the most prestigious TV networks in all of television, but they are also at the forefront of technology with their HBO Max platform. Now HBO has announced that it will be developing a Facebook drama series called Doomsday Machine. HBO landed a development deal for Doomsday Machine, which is a limited series based on Sheera Frenkel and Cecilia Kang's book An Ugly Truth: Inside Facebook's Battle for Domination, according to Deadline. Doomsday Machine is a "riveting human drama chronicling the political and social minefields Facebook has navigated on its relentless quest for growth. The series places us in the shoes of Sheryl Sandberg (Foy) and Mark Zuckerberg, who are shaping the way that billions of people around the world communicate and consume information,” according to HBO. The series is based on Frenkel and Kang’s reporting for the New York Times and was first announced in October before entering into a multiple-network bidding war. The script is expected to be written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar, who will also executive produce the show with Paul Lee and Josh Stern (Wiip), David Levine and Doug Wald (Anonymous Content), Adam Berkowitz, Elyse Cheney, and Adam Eaglin. Foy, who has two Emmy wins for her role as Queen Elizabeth II on Netflix's The Crown, will also executive produce. Catherine Zeta-Jones is headed to Georgia to film her next project. According to the Georgia.org, Facebook Watch is ramping up production for a new series called Queen America. The new series will star Catherine Zeta-Jones and will be a dark-comedy set in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 10-episode series will focus on Vicki Ellis a ruthless pageant coach, who is played by Zeta-Jones. Vicki is desparately sought after by young women competing to be Miss America for one reason; she can turn any girl into a winner. But she gets paired with the beautiful but unpolished Samantha, Vicki’s entire reparation may be at stake. Zeta-Jones most recently worked on the Lifetime Cocaine Godmother: The Griselda Blanco Story.  She also appeared as Olivia de Havilland in the first season of the Ryan Murphy anthology series “Feud.” She won an Oscar for best supporting actress for her work in the 2002 film adaptation of the hit musical “Chicago” and is also known for her roles in films like “Traffic,” “Entrapment,” “Intolerable Cruelty,” and “The Mask of Zorro.” The series is created, written, and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer. “I’m so excited to be making this show, set in my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma — and beyond grateful to be partnered again with Bruna Papandrea, who has championed this project from its earliest stages and proven to be one of the biggest supporters of women in the industry,” said Oppenheimer. “We have been very lucky to have found such great collaborators in wiip, Entertainment 360, and Facebook. New Tinder study finds women don't like guys with beards. Ever since hipster culture and Rick Ross became popular, beards have become a fashion staple for guys across the country. But, a new study may have everyone rushing to the bathroom to shave their facial hair. In collaboration with Tinder, Gillette conducted a study to determine whether or not bearded guys got more action than their clean-shaven contemporaries. And the results are pretty surprising. The study followed 100,000 anonymous, college-age male Tinder users and discovered 74% of "right swiipes" went to men who had no facial hair. In addition, the guys with no beards had a 37 percent more chance at finding a “match” then their hairier peers. And if you are still not convinced, the study went even further by asking bearded men to continue using Tinder as they normally would for another seven days. In the following week, the men were asked to shave their faces and upload a photo of their new appearance, which increased their “right swipes” on an average of 19 percent. In addition, Tinder and Gillette took the before-and-after photos of the men and asked 284 college women which look they found more attractive. In the end, a whopping 91 percent said they preferred clean shaven guys. The results challenge previous studies that found men with heavy facial hair more attractive to women. But maybe trends are changing, as more and more women are finding beards unattractive and boring. Whatever the reason, just remember, that you are more likely to find love if you are clean shaven than having a full lumberjack beard. And if you're an actor, you probably want to stop by Wal-Mart and pick up a new razor to land more acting jobs. It's just a thought.
