<h2>Snoop Dogg is calling for his fans to boycott the remake of the slave drama&nbsp;Roots,&nbsp;arguing that he is "sick" of all of the slave dramas.</h2>
The remake of the historical miniseries, which is based on Alex Haley's 1976 book,&nbsp;Roots: The Saga of an American Family, premiered on Monday&nbsp;on the U.S. History Channel on Memorial Day, but&nbsp;Snoop Dogg will not be watching the series.

IN a video posted on Instagram, Snoop urges filmmakers, producers and actors to create new material about the success of African Americans instead of reminding audiences about their troubled past.&nbsp;"No disrespect but I can't watch no motherf**king black movies where ****&nbsp;get dogged out - 12 Years A Slave, Roots, Underground, I can't watch none of that s**t," he argued.

"I'm sick of this s**t. How the f**k they gonna put Roots on on Memorial Day? They just gonna keep beatin' that s**t in our heads in how they did us, huh?" Snoop fumed. "I mean, I don't understand it, man. They just wanna keep showing the abuse that we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago."

Snoop Dogg continued,&nbsp;"But guess what? We're taking the same abuse. Think about that part. When y'all gonna make a motherf**king series about the success that black folks was having? The only success we have is Roots and 12 Years A Slave and s**t like that, huh? F**k y'all."

Snoop then told his followers to boycott the new Roots TV show.&nbsp;"I ain't watchin' that s**t (sic)," he said. "I advise you motherf**king real n**gas like myself, f**k them television shows. Let's create our own s**t based on today, how we live and how we inspire people today. Black is what's real. F**k that old s**t."

This is not the first time Snoop Dogg talked about racial issues in the entertainment industry. Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg called for a boycott of the Oscars over the lack of non-white nominees.

Roots&nbsp;features&nbsp;Laurence Fishbourne, Forest Whitaker, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anna Paquin, Anika Noni Rose, Malachi Kirby, and rapper/actor T.I. The original 1977 series won&nbsp;Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award, and spawned two sequels. The finale is still the third highest-rated U.S. TV show in TV&nbsp;history.

Snoop Dogg Tells Fans to Boycott 'Roots': "I'm sick of this S**T.

<h2>Snoop Dogg's son Cordell Broadus just quit UCLA football.</h2>
Cordell Broadus, the son of rapper Snoop Dogg, has decided to quit football. Despite being a four-star receiver prospect, having a rapper father, and a reality TV show on ESPN, and ranked as one of the best high school athletes from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, according to <a href="http://www.scout.com/college/ucla/story/1574224-alert-cordell-broadus-quits-ucla-football">Scout.com</a>. He had not reported to UCLA's fall camp in San Bernadino, California, this week and then told head coach Jim Mora on Thursday that he decided to pursue "other passions in his life."

"Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life -- in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions," Mora <a href="http://www.uclabruins.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30500&amp;ATCLID=210267800">said in a statement</a>. "Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA."

The incoming freshman attended UCLA's summer session, which will allow Broadus to remain enrolled at UCLA for the fall.

Why Snoop Dogg's Son Quit UCLA Football

<h2>Snoop Dogg was briefly held in custody in Sweden as authorities suspected he had drugs.</h2>
According to <a href="http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jul/26/snoop-dogg-briefly-held-drug-suspicions-uppsala-sweden" target="_blank">reports</a>, police pulled over Snoop Dogg's car after a concert Saturday night in Uppsala, Sweden, after which he was arrested.

&#147;Police carrying out roadside controls noticed that Snoop Dogg [whose car was pulled over] seemed to be under the influence of narcotics. He was arrested and taken to the police station to take a urine test,&#148; police spokesman Daniel Nilsson told the publication.

&#147;The incident lasted several minutes. Once the test was carried out he left,&#148; Nilsson went on.

Snoop Dogg would later have something to say about the arrest. The rapper posted a NSFW video on Instagram on Sunday, reassuring fans and revealing details behind the incident.

&#147;They took me down there, made me pee in a cup. They didn&#146;t find s&#150;t,&#148; he said in the video.

&#147;It&#146;s better to be searched and not found with nothing than not to be searched at all,&#148; he continued. &#147;F&#150;k y&#146;all.&#148;

According to the <a href="http://www.thelocal.se/20090207/17424">local.se</a>, it's not Snoop Dogg's fault that he got pulled over but, racist stereotypes taught by police officers in Sweden.&nbsp;There has been evidence that the Swedish police used "Neger Niggersson" as a nickname for a criminal in a police training; this was published in Swedish media.&nbsp;Lately however, many incidents of racial attitudes and discrimination of the Swedish police have led for the first time to the control of racial attitudes of police students under police education .&nbsp;A recent research done by the Swedish Confederation for Professional Employees (TCO) found that people with foreign background have much lower chances of finding a job that is appropriate for their education, even when they have grown up in Sweden and got their education in Swedish institutes.
<blockquote>"Neger Niggersson" and "Oskar Neger" (Negro). Two names used by Sk&aring;ne police in their internal training. A participating officer reported the incident to senior officers but no inquiry was launched.

According to local newspaper Sydsvenskan a course in sequestration was held for around fifty staff at the county police department in&nbsp;Malm&ouml; in the spring of 2008.

The instructor displayed the names to be used in the course on a screen. Among them were "Neger Niggersson" and "Oskar Neger".

Why Racist Stereotypes Used in Police Training Nearly Put Snoop Dogg Behind Bars

<h2>Snoop Dogg is working with HBO to create a drama centering around Los Angeles in the 1980s.</h2>
Snoop Dogg is looking to create a TV empire of his own. According to Variety, the rapper announced on Friday that he will executive produce a drama about 1980s Los Angeles alongside director Allen Hughes ('The Book of Eli') and writer Rodney Barnes ('The Boondocks').

HBO Picks Up Snoop Dogg's 1980s L.A. Drama 

<h2><a title="Snoop Dogg" href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/tag/snoop-dogg/">Snoop Dogg</a> and Dr. Dre's Cult Classic Film, 'The Wash,' is Being Revitalized as a Television Series - Get Ready for the Comeback!</h2>
Fans of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre might remember the duo&rsquo;s 2001 film The Wash, written and directed by DJ Pooh. With a synopsis surrounding life at the car wash, where anything can and does happen to two friends, played by Snoop and Dre, the film quickly became a cult classic in the early 2000s.
Director DJ Pooh recently took to his social media to reveal to fans that a new The Wash TV series is coming soon. In his Tweet, he wrote, &ldquo;It all comes out in &lsquo;Wash.&rsquo; Series are coming.&rdquo; No additional information was given, but fans in the comment section on Instagram appear to be excited about the reboot. The film starred Snoop and Dre as two employees who work at a car wash to try to make rent and avoid being evicted from their homes. Other stars, including Eminem, Ludacris, Kurupt, Shaquille O&rsquo;Neal, Xzibit, and George Wallace, also appear in the film.
Despite receiving meager ratings from critics, most notably just 8% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Wash made USD 10 million at the box office on a USD 7 million budget. The original soundtrack featured a star-studded list of artists, including Busta Rhymes, D12, Xzibit, Bilal, Bubba Sparxxx, and Snoop and Dre. The album hit No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over 750,000 copies.
There is no word on if Snoop Dogg and Dre will reprise their roles. The duo also plans to reunite for a joint Missionary album, which is arriving this summer.

<h3>What is The Underdoggs movie about?</h3>
Snoop Dogg has signed on to star in and produce The Underdoggs, MGM's upcoming comedy. He'll collaborate with Kenya Barris under his Death Row Pictures banner.
The Underdoggs is a football-themed film based on an original concept from Snoop Dogg and his longtime collaborator Constance Schwartz-Morini. After being arrested for a crime, former NFL star 2J (Snoop Dogg) agrees to coach a youth football team in place of jail in order to relaunch his stalled career.
Charles Stone, Drumline's director, is working off a screenplay written by Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis (Grown-ish, #BlackAF). The film is scheduled to release on Oct. 20th, 2023.
Mychelle Deschamps for Barris' Khalabo Ink Society, Schwartz-Morini of SMAC Entertainment, and Jonathan Glickman for Panoramic Media are also working on the movie.

<h2>Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are going to work together on a new talk show for VH1.</h2>
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg will soon be getting a VH1 series. Variety reports the show is currently titled&nbsp;Martha &amp; Snoop&#146;s Dinner Party, and that it will &#147;feature the lifestyle maven and the D-O-double-G teaming up each week to host a dinner party with celebrity guests.&#148;

The show was first announced this morning on&nbsp;Good Morning America&nbsp;and while the show sounds like a fun mixture of lifestyle tips and hip-hop news, it will be interesting to see how the show pans out.
