If you choose to mail your script submissions, send them via a reputable courier which provides a tracking number. Script submissions should be sent in a 9" x 12" flat manila envelope with the sender's return address printed on it.
Production companies and literary agencies will not open unsolicited scripts with a proper return address. Without First Class postage stamp on the envelope, script submissions sent via US mail will be immediately returned to you. Include a cover letter with your contact information and a synopsis of your screenplay, including treatment if it's a television project.
If you mail your script submission on standard paper, follow Script Format Guide exactly with all margins set at 1" and page numbers on the right-hand side of each page, no headers or footers used. Scripts submitted on standard paper will be returned unopened if they do not follow Script Format Guide.
If you're planning to mail your script submission in a manila envelope rather than using email (which is preferable), including all the information requested in Script Format Guide precisely as Script Format Guide invites it. Script submissions on standard paper will be sent back (unopened) if Script Format Guide isn't followed exactly.
Reading Script Submissions Scripts submitted to production companies and literary agencies must not contain any watermarks on the front of the script's first page, such as security markings or 'not for distribution,' Script Format Guide explains. Script submissions not conforming to standard formatting will be returned unopened.
Producers read a multitude of scripts. As Script Format Guide points out, reading scripts takes time and effort &ndash; it's investment producers have to make if they want their project brought in for development. Scripts submitted directly to individual production companies and literary agencies must be Script Format Guide-compliant to stand a chance of being read.
Production companies and literary agents make no guarantees how long it will take for them to review your script. Scripts that fail to follow Script Format Guide are unlikely to be read.
<h2>Script Format Guide</h2>
If submitting a manuscript format script to a production company or literary agency, you need to follow Script Format Guide (see below) exactly.
Per Script Format Guide, the title page of your script should include:
- Script title
- Script writer's name and contact information
- Type of project (feature, TV episode/series, half-hour sitcom, short film)
- Script release date (is the project in development, released, or in pre-production)
- Script running time (for screenplays and teleplays)
- Submission release date (indicate whether the script is available for consideration at any point during a set period &ndash; such as 'when received by June 1 st, 2016' &ndash; or only during a specific timeframe &ndash; such as 'only between January 1 st and March 31 st, 2016')
- Script genre (for example: action/adventure, comedy, science fiction/fantasy/horror, period piece, crime drama)
- Script logline (A brief one-sentence description of the story that is intriguing and concise &ndash; the more creative, the better it will be.)
- Script synopsis (This should include: a description of your story's beginning, middle, and ending; main characters by name and description only &ndash; including gender and age range; conflict or problem facing protagonist(s) &ndash; what happens to make your story move forward; and, finally, the resolution or end of your story)
- Script contact information (including name, address, telephone number(s), fax number, or email address).
Script Format Guide also recommends labeling your script with your last name first. Scripts should be printed double-sided on white paper in black ink.
A simple brad or three-hole punch should bind scripts. Never staple your script. Script submissions not conforming to standard formatting will be returned unopened.
<h2>Build a screenplay submissions contact list</h2>
When looking for a manager, make a detailed list of the individuals or organizations you believe your script would be ideal for and want to go after.
You can learn the names of producers and managers on Project Casting who work with similar material to yours to contact them later.
You'll be able to add real and viable contacts to your screenplay submission list if you get along well with these individuals.
<h2>Prepare your pitch</h2>
You don't want to spam everyone on your list at once when you have a script ready to send out and a list of potential managers and producers who might be interested in reading it. Every few days, send out about twenty queries and vary up the email query from time to time according to the responses you receive.
Consider the email to be an elevator pitch&mdash;you've got a few seconds to win someone over and that's it. Make sure your pitch letter is written in your screenplay's distinctive voice and tone. This will help yours stand out among the thousands of script submissions already flooding in.
Consider sending your pitch as a PDF attachment to protect your script from being hacked or stolen.
Be sure to include the title, genre, and logline as the subject of your email, as well as all necessary information for contacting you, including name, address, email address, and telephone number(s). Set up separate folders for each company and label those folders appropriately.

For those interested in the Academy, there are a few easy ways to learn more about it. &nbsp;The Academy has plenty of information on their website, located at ATAS.com, where you can find Academy news and events as well as membership options and educational opportunities. In order to join the Academy, you must meet certain eligibility requirements and submit an application. &nbsp;It's a selective process but the Academy makes it clear that they encourage anyone who meets their criteria to apply.
Emmy award winners are announced at an Academy-planned gala event, where those outstanding in their field receive the Emmy award trophy as well as other special awards. &nbsp;It's a night to celebrate television.

Summary of Position
The primary responsibilities of the Social Media Creative Producer begin with the strategizing, production and posting of creative assets for the Television Academy Social Media team&rsquo;s content rollouts on various owned-social platforms for Academy/Foundation initiatives. Additionally, the role will capture content and talent Q&amp;A at various Television Academy related events such as Hall of Fame, College Television Awards, Emmy Nominee Receptions, Emmy Awards ceremonies and telecasts, as well as other related events and red carpets during the For Your Consideration (FYC) season to subsequently post on owned social media accounts for the Television Academy and Television Academy Foundation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ideating and producing highly-engaging visual assets and branding for various social media campaigns and content pieces including but not limited to:

<li>Wallpapers</li>

<li>Shooting and capturing content and talent Q&amp;A video at various Academy and industry-related events and award shows to post in real-time or as part of ongoing rollouts, with an eye on organization&rsquo;s social media strategies to drive reach and engagement.</li>
<li>Video editing and packaging inclusive of clipping and/or adding visual effects and music as needed.</li>
<li>Video production utilizing existing and new content.</li>
<li>Ensuring all content is optimized for the various social platforms and adheres to overall brand voice and strategy.</li>
<li>Work cross-functionally with Digital, Design, Talent, and Marketing teams to ensure content is produced with suitable graphics/assets, optimized SEO, and ensure all assets are consistently on-brand and adhere to Academy guidelines.</li>
<li>Copywriting and proofing.</li>

&nbsp;Minimum Requirements
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and/or equivalent work experience required.</li>
<li>3-4 years of professional experience in content creation and producing creative assets preferably for a brand or entertainment client.</li>
<li>Extremely proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in video editing and effects.</li>
<li>Familiarity with social media platforms and tools (specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and working knowledge of TikTok) and experience with social media content creation.</li>
<li>Highly self-motivated and directed, with ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and multi-tasking; outstanding organization and time management skills, exceptional attention to detail.</li>
<li>Demonstrates maturity, tact and diplomacy and maintains professionalism at all times, especially at events and red carpets, with talent and talent representation; flexible and adaptable.</li>
<li>Experience in consistently shooting/interviewing celebrities or similar level of talent/individuals.</li>
<li>Competency in Sprout (or similar web-based social scheduling system).</li>
<li>Act as liaison between talent representation and Television Academy as needed.</li>
<li>Excellent oral and written communication, including editorial, copywriting, and interpersonal communication skills.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Works well with a team and with a range of creative people.</li>

SHOOT LOCATION:&nbsp;Oregon and Colorado. We are only considering talent who live in Oregon, Washington, or California.&nbsp;
SHOOT DATES:&nbsp;1-3 days between Mon Jan 24th &ndash; Fri Feb 11th (exact dates TBD)
Please do not apply if you have any immovable conflicts on the dates listed (going out of town, etc.) Your schedule should be flexible enough to work any dates during this range as needed. Please do not request work off or clear your schedule unless requested to do so via email (we will give you as much notice as possible).&nbsp;
PAY IF HIRED:&nbsp;$1,500 per day (1-3 shoot days)
Pay includes your hours worked and the usage of your image by the advertiser.
USAGE:&nbsp;Unlimited, in perpetuity
REPRESENTED TALENT:&nbsp;If you have a talent agent, the pay rates + usage terms will be different. Please see Casting Networks, Casting Frontier, or your agent for confirmed rates.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:&nbsp;Must live in OR, WA, or CO and be legally eligible to work in the US. Must comply with all COVID19 protocols. Talent age 5+ must be fully vaccinated including available boosters, pending medical/religious exemptions.
COVID19 CONSIDERATIONS:&nbsp;&nbsp;The casting process will be 100% remote. There will be no in-person auditions or callbacks. Please only apply if you would feel safe working during COVID19 given the information below.&nbsp;

Well..watching your work a some point..mostly immediately helps me...I can see if what I intended turned out that way...and if not I can adjust... a tremendous advantage over stage...which is that one shot...kinda like watching games films in any sport...anyway..that's me....and I'm nobody...but don't tell anybody....hahahahah

I agree that you cannot watch yourself and not get stuck in your head.  You don't want to be concerned how you look, you want to do.

<h2>These 10 actors don't watch the movies that they are in</h2>
It may seem pretty crazy to us, but it's pretty common among many top actors to have never seen their own movies. But, the reasons for this vary.

Many actors are often insecure about their work and most of them don't want to see their face projected on a movie screen to be overanalyzed and critiqued by movie critics.

Other actors worry that watching themselves on screen will somehow negatively effect future movie roles. If an actor is too critical of themselves they may become too self-aware of how they look from the outside and it may affect whether or not they take another role in the future.

You would assume that most actors would be excited to see the final product of a movie they have been spending long days and nights making, but for many professional actors that is not the case. Some actors simply enjoy acting, but not the movie itself. Once they are done shooting a production they are moving on to the next project.

Two actors that technically do watch their own films but don't seem thrilled about it include Tom Hanks, and Robert DeNiro.

Tom Hanks was asked in an <a href="http://www.shortlist.com/entertainment/films/tom-hanks" target="_blank">interview</a> which one of his old movies does he enjoy to watch again:
<blockquote>Oh, I don’t watch any of my old movies. The one that I might watch with great affection is a little movie I directed, That Thing You Do, which I’m not in that much. I loved doing it so much that when I watch it now it still brings a smile to my face. I don’t watch my own performances – who does that? That would be madness. I’ve seen all the movies once, but I don’t need to see them again, because they don’t change.</blockquote>
Robert De Niro agreed and said watching himself in a movie is boring."I don’t like to watch my own movies— I fall asleep in my own movies." This almost seems hard to believe with cult classics like The Godfather and Taxi Driver how can you fall asleep?

As soon as I am, I’m less open.” However, he was pressured by the makers of The Social Network to attend a screening of the film, “They made me watch that one,” he admits.
