'Will Trent' Picked Up by ABC for Midseason 2022-2023.

We're thrilled to announce that "Will Trent" has been picked up as a complete drama series by ABC.

Join Project Casting to access jobs you can apply to right now.

As part of ABC's 2022 pilot season slate, the show was originally just ordered as a pilot back in February. However, due to its growing popularity and critical acclaim, we've decided to turn it into a full-fledged series that will debut mid-season during the next broadcast season (2022-2023).

Rodríguez stars as Will Trent, a special agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) who was abandoned at birth and spent his childhood in Atlanta's overwhelmed foster care system. Now driven by a desire to help others who have experienced similar hardships, Trent has become one of the GBI's most successful agents.

The show stars Rodríguez, Christensen, Richardson, McLaughlin, and Sohn. The pilot was written by Heldens and Thomsen, who also serve as executive producers. Slaughter serves as an executive producer along with Obst. McGuigan directed the pilot and is also an executive producer. 20th Television is the studio for this production.

Most recently, ABC announced that it would not be moving forward with its pilots "The Son-in-Law" and an untitled drama from Kay Oyegun. ABC had previously ordered the comedy series "Not Dead Yet" starring Gina Rodriguez for the new broadcast season, as well as a spinoff of "The Rookie" starring Niecy Nash-Betts and the drama "Alaska Daily" featuring Hilary Swank. In terms of its remaining pilots, there is still a possibility for the espionage drama The Company You Keep" to be picked up; it stars Milo Ventimiglia.
