FX was so impressed with the show that it decided to pick up and produce a series in April! The idea for the documentary-style series came from an ESPN 30 for 30 podcast of an identical name. Brian O’Neill will join Laurence Fishburne and Jacki Weaver in the six-episode series, which tells the story of Doc Rivers (Fishburne) and his mission to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a championship despite their iconic poor record. The drama is compounded by the fact that Donald Sterling (O’Neill), a team owner whose racism becomes public knowledge as he grapples with Shelly Sterling (Weaver), his wife of sixty years, for control over her mistress V. Stiviano.

Since the conclusion of ABC’s “Modern Family” in 2020, O’Neill is set to return to television with his upcoming role. The three-time Emmy-nominated actor shone during the show’s 11-season run and has also built an impressive resume through his role on the Fox sitcom “Married…With Children; feature films such as “The Last Shift,” “The Bone Collector,” and more throughout its 11 seasons. Other standout appearances include movies like “Little Giants,” “Dutch,” and most recently, “The Spanish Prisoner.”\

Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners are proud to represent him.

The Sterling Affairs will be helmed by the dynamic team of Gina Welch (Writer/Executive Producer), Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson of Color Force (Executive Producers with Nellie Reed also from Color Force), Ramona Shelburne (Reporter & Host, Executive Producer) Kevin Bray directing first block episodes in addition to serving as executive producer for those same episodes, Rembert Browne producing and FX Productions bringing it all together.

Jacobson and Simpson have been a powerhouse duo at FX, currently, executive producing “American Crime Story” for the network. As they prepare to launch both “American Sports Story” and “American Love Story,” their impressive portfolio of work with FX Productions also includes the critically-acclaimed hit series “Pose,” which aired its final season in 2021 after three unforgettable seasons. Color Force is proud to work under an overall deal with the prestigious production company.
