Jay Prodigy

Profile

Jay Prodigy started his journey in State College Pennsylvania at the age of nine years old. His acting career began when one of his teachers decided to write a school musical with him in mind. His mother seeing his potential decided to invest in his abilities. By the age of 11, Jay was the only black male in his ballet, tap, modern and jazz classes. As his training progressed, he started getting roles in productions like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. For high school, Jay auditioned and was accepted to Pittsburgh’s public school of Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA). He was accepted for both acting and dance, but after careful consideration he chose to be a dance major. His acting training was pursued outside of school. In 2008 he was submitted into Pittsburgh’s public theater William Shakespeare monologue competition. He won first place out of over 1000 competitors. After high school Jay decided to serve his country by enlisting into the United States Navy. He assisted in two deployments and visited over 10 countries. Jay is now seeking his BFA and continues to excel at his craft.
