Universal Pictures Reportedly Developing ‘The Legend of Zelda’ Film Adaptation

Rumors abound that Universal Pictures is venturing into the realm of video game adaptations with Nintendo’s beloved franchise, The Legend of Zelda.

During a recent episode of The Hot Mic podcast, esteemed film critic Jeff Sneider disclosed insider information about Universal’s potential collaboration with Nintendo. According to Sneider, a “big deal” is allegedly in the works between Universal and the Nintendo corporation for The Legend of Zelda. This news is unsurprising, as many anticipated that Zelda would become the next major franchise to receive the Illumination Nintendo treatment. Sneider confidently stated, “I’m told that is happening.”

In light of the colossal success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which amassed an astounding $1 billion in global box office revenue, Universal is reportedly willing to invest a substantial amount in bringing the Zelda adaptation to life. The financial commitment demonstrates the studio’s confidence in the project’s potential for success.
