The hit HBO series ‘Insecure’ is returning for a fifth season.

HBO announced on Friday, the series is coming back just a few weeks after the fourth season debuted their fourth season on April 12th.

The show will continue to follow favorite characters including Issa, played by series creator Issa Rae, Lawrence (Jay Ellis), Molly (Yvonne Orji), Tiffany (Amanda Seales), and Kelli (Natasha Rothwell).

“We’re thrilled that Issa, [producer Prentice Penny], and the whole Insecure team will be getting back together for a fifth season,” Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming, said, according to Variety. “As we laugh and cringe with recognition, their stories make us all feel a little less alone in the world.”

Rae celebrated the renewal news on Twitter Friday, writing that she was “grateful.”

In relevant news, Issa Rae recently opened up about being Black in Hollywood. Issa Rae has become a leading star and she started her start in Hollywood by creating her own opportunities. Her breakout YouTube series ‘The Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl’ led her to the hit HBO show “Insecure” and her recent comedy “Lovebirds“, which is coming soon to Netflix. Despite a growing acting and producing career, Rae has never backed away from being inclusive and finding diversity to work on her projects. The actress says it’s “threaded in the fabric of my being to look around me and make sure that there is representation because that’s what I wholeheartedly want to see.”
