Tyler Perry helps the family of a woman killed in a bank shooting.

According to reports, family members who lost their mother in a bank shooting are getting help from Tyler Perry.

Tynesha Evans’ boyfriend killed her at a bank in Atlanta, Georgia, police say. According to reports, her daughters say Evans’ boyfriend asked her to meet him at the bank so he could give her money to help pay her rent. Instead, police say he shot her.

“She can’t kiss me. She can’t tell me to wake up in the morning after I missed my alarm. She can’t.  She’s not here,” said Evans’ daughter Sakemia Turner told WSBTV.

After hearing the story, Tyler Perry contacted the family and offered to help.

“It was a call I wasn’t even going to answer. I said, ‘Well, let me answer it to see who it is.’ I answered, and the person on the other end said, ‘This is Tyler.’ I said, ‘Who?’ He said, ‘This is Tyler.’ I said, ‘Tyler who?’ and he said, ‘Tyler Perry.’ At that point, I just broke down crying,” said Evans’ daughter Audrey Turner.

Perry offered to fly the mother’s body back to Wisconsin, where the family will hold her funeral. He also promised to pay the tuition for Sharadiant Turner, who is attending Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I’m going to do what she wanted me to do. She started me on math, and now I’m going to get to graduate with a mathematics degree from Spelman College without debt, it means everything,” Sharadiant Turner said.

The family says they are finding peace thanks to Tyler Perry’s generous help.

“This amazing. We can’t thank him enough,” Sharadiant Turner said.

Tyler Perry has a long history of giving back. Last holiday season, Tyler Perry paid off more than $430,000 in Walmart layaways. “I know it’s a hard time, a lot of people are struggling and I’m just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this,” Perry said in a video.
