Casting Call: Volunteer Disney Princesses and Superheroes

Job Details: We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to dress as various Disney Princesses and Superheroes for a special event at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. The volunteers will interact with, entertain, and bring smiles to the children staying in the pediatric ward. This heartwarming opportunity is perfect for individuals who enjoy acting and entertaining, have a passion for charitable work, and love bringing joy to children’s lives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Dress up and portray a specific Disney Princess or Superhero character.
• Engage with children in the pediatric ward in a friendly and compassionate manner.
• Take photos with the children, participate in storytelling, and possibly other light entertainment activities.
• Maintain the integrity and ethos of the character being portrayed throughout the visit.
• Work collaboratively with event organizers and hospital staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all involved.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older and provide your own costume.
• Previous experience in acting, children’s entertainment, or volunteering in similar roles is highly advantageous but not required.
• Must pass a background check due to the sensitive environment of working with children in a hospital setting.
• Ability to maintain character and a positive demeanor throughout the event.
• Must be available on Thursday, 25th April 2024, and able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours between 10 AM and 1 PM.

Compensation: This is a volunteer opportunity. While there is no financial compensation, volunteers will gain invaluable experience in children’s entertainment and satisfaction from making a positive impact in the lives of young patients. A letter of participation and a reference will be provided upon request, which can be a great addition to your resume or portfolio.
