Casting Call: Inuit and Indigenous Performers for CBC/APTWA Major Streaming Series

Job Description: We are excited to announce a casting call for Inuit and other Indigenous performers for an upcoming series to be featured on CBC/APTWA's major streaming platform. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a compelling new series that aims to bring Indigenous stories and characters to the forefront.

Storyline: The series revolves around a young Inuk mother striving to build a new future for herself in a small Arctic town where privacy is scarce and community ties run deep.

Roles Available:

  • KUUK (Series Lead): We are looking for a male actor, aged 25-30, of Inuit or Indigenous descent (mixed race candidates are also welcome). The character of Kuuk is envisioned as a sexy, wise-cracking urban native who plays a pivotal role in the storyline.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Portray the character of Kuuk with authenticity, bringing depth and nuance to the role.
  2. Collaborate with the director and other cast members to bring the script to life.
  3. Participate in rehearsals and take direction to refine performance.
  4. Be available for the entire shooting schedule and commit to the project's timelines.

Requirements:

  • Must be of Inuit or other Indigenous descent.
  • Age: 25-30 years old.
  • No previous acting experience is required.
  • Ability to relocate to Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada for the duration of the shoot.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation Details:

  • This is a paid opportunity. Specific compensation details will be discussed upon selection.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for the duration of the shoot.
