The show tells the true story of the Black Mafia Family, one of America's most notorious and powerful organized crime syndicates.
Headed by brothers Demetrius and Terry Flenory, BMF operated out of Detroit in the early 2000s. At the height of their power, they generated millions of dollars a month from drug trafficking, money laundering, and other criminal activities. But as the brothers' empire continued to grow, so did the feds' investigation into their operations.
In 2005, Demetrius and Terry were indicted on federal racketeering and conspiracy charges, and they were both sentenced to 30 years in prison. "BMF" chronicles their rise to power and eventual fall, and it features interviews with members of the Black Mafia Family and law enforcement officials who worked on the case.
The series is directed by Mario Van Peebles and executive produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
