Casting Call: Queer Black Male-Presenting Talent for Short Film

Project Description: We are casting for a dynamic and thought-provoking short film that aims to explore themes of identity and belonging through the lens of a queer Black character. This narrative-driven project seeks to tell a compelling story that resonates with diverse audiences and promotes inclusivity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform scenes according to the director’s vision and the script's requirements.
• Collaborate with the director and other actors to bring the character and story to life.
• Participate in rehearsals as scheduled to ensure the highest quality of performance.
• Provide input and insights into the character development, ensuring authenticity and depth.
• Engage with promotional activities for the film as required, including interviews and potential screenings.

Requirements:

• Identify as Male/Non-Binary/Trans-Male and present as male.
• Must be Black and part of the LGBTQ+ community.
• Professional acting experience in film, television, or theatre is preferred.
• Strong ability to convey emotions and a deep understanding of character development.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom and willing to travel within the country as required by the production schedule.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to the creative process.
• Must be available for the entire duration of the production schedule, details of which will be communicated upon successful casting.

Compensation:

• Competitive pay, commensurate with experience.
• Travel expenses and accommodations will be covered if required.
• Food and other daily allowances will be provided during shoot days.
