NO ACTING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. 
We’re seeking a real father, age 30-50, and his child, age 1-5, in the Greater Toronto Area. 
These roles will play as the family to Mara, the leading character.

SYNOPSIS: 
This film is about Mara, a young and successful tenure-track professor, who is somewhat-happily married to Damian. They live in Toronto with their young child. Mara is struggling in her marriage while finishing her dissertation and working as a TA. While very knowledgeable and passionate about literature, she is self-conscious about her prospects of becoming an instructor. She is high strung and nervous around the professor that she assists. While going through her daily routines, Mara begins to ponder the times before she was married, when her life had adventure and spontaneity.


PLEASE NOTE:
- Production is following strict COVID-19 recommendations as prepared by Section 21 Film and Television Health and Safety Advisory Committee of the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development

The production footprint will be limited to 6-8 cast and crew (more like a small documentary unit). Private COVID testing is being offered to talent before each shoot day. Performers will receive a $100 covid test appointment fee. 
- This is a non-union project. We are accepting application from people with no acting experience, however you should be comfortable on camera.
- If shortlisted, you and your child MUST be available for a brief interview with the director during the week of either February 1st or February 8th.
- If selected, you and your child MUST be available for 6 days of filming between February to May 2021. At least 1 week notice will be given prior to each shoot date.
- If selected for this project, you will receive $650 for each day of filming. This rate is for both you and your child together.
- Award winning feature film production company MDFF (www.mdff.ca) has been making films since 2009. Their most recent feature ANNE AT 13,000 FT premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival where it received a Special Jury Mention in the Platform Competition. It was subsequently nominated for 4 Canadian Screen Awards including Best Motion Picture, Achievement in Direction, Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, and Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. The film will have a virtual theatrical release starting Feb 19th
