Casting Call: Blind or Low Vision Performer for Lead Role - Derek

Job Description: We are in search of talented blind or low vision performers to portray the character of Derek in our upcoming project. Our production is committed to diverse and inclusive casting, and we welcome submissions from qualified performers regardless of disability, race, age, color, national origin, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected category.

  • Description: Derek is a remarkable young boy who is blind and autistic. Born prematurely in 1979, he survived a traumatic childbirth. He possesses exceptional musical talent, but he is also known for his temperamental and detached nature. The character of Derek will be at the heart of our story, showcasing his journey to unlock his extraordinary musical abilities with the help of his dedicated piano teacher, Adam.

Shoot Dates: 2 days, either Nov. 4/5, Nov. 11/12, or Nov. 18/19, 2023

Compensation:

  • Rate of Pay: $300 + 10% (if applicable) per shoot day
  • If talent is not a Los Angeles (LA) local, we will provide talent and talent guardian with flight, housing, and per diem.
