Anne Chapman Casting together with VCUarts Cinema is seeking talented actors for an upcoming non-union short student film. The film explores the dark consequences of unchecked ambition in the world of social media, revolving around a popular influencer who unwittingly poisons her fans with a sinister cosmetic product. Actors should be prepared for a challenging yet rewarding experience that involves complex emotional performances and special makeup effects.

Roles Available:

1. [MAEVE] - Lead Role

   • Age/Gender: 20s, Female
   • Ethnicity: All Ethnicities
   • Compensation: $275 per day
   • Shooting Days: June 11, 12, & 13, 2024
   • Character Traits: Conceals insecurities with a cheerful online persona, desperate for fame at any cost.
   • Requirements: Comfort with profanity, filming without makeup, stunt work including collapsing, and extensive makeup effects (fake rashes, blood, etc.).

2. [BUSINESS REP] - Supporting Role

   • Age/Gender: 30s, Male
   • Ethnicity: All Ethnicities
   • Compensation: $175 per day
   • Shooting Days: 2 days between June 11-13, 2024
   • Character Traits: Tall, fit, handsome with an artificial, plastic appearance. Charismatic yet indifferent to the harm caused.
   • Requirements: Comfort with makeup effects resembling plastic surgery.

3. [LISA] - Supporting Role

   • Age/Gender: 18 to early 20s, Female
   • Ethnicity: All Ethnicities
   • Compensation: $175 per day
   • Shooting Days: 2 days between June 11-13, 2024
   • Character Traits: Naïve and obsessed fan, whose life revolves around Maeve.
   • Requirements: Comfort with profanity, stunts including collapsing and coughing up fake blood, and makeup effects (rashes, scabs, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Deliver compelling performances in accordance with the director’s vision.
• Participate in makeup and costume fittings as required.
• Collaborate with cast and crew to ensure a cohesive production environment.
• Adhere to scheduled call times and remain on set for the duration of shooting days.

Requirements:

• Prior acting experience in film or theater preferred.
• Strong ability to portray complex emotional states and physical reactions.
• Professionalism and dedication to the craft.
• Must be able to work legally in the United States.
• Comfort with content that includes profanity, blood, and depiction of skin injuries.

Compensation: $175-$275 per day, depending on role
