NBC Universal Casting Apprentice program is a film industry development program for people interested in a career in film and TV casting.

According to NBCUniversal Talent Infusion Programs, “This program is designed for individuals with diverse backgrounds who aspire to become a Casting Manager within a Network or Studio or a Casting Associate or Director on a production. Depending on the assigned division, apprentices will be given an opportunity to work at a Network with executives or in a Freelance Casting Office with a Casting Director.”

About the Casting Apprentice Program:

The NBCUniversal Casting Apprentice Program is a career development opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in casting. This program is designed for individuals of diverse backgrounds who aspire to gain insight and training at an entry level at a Network or Studio. Depending on the assigned division, the apprentice will be given an opportunity to work at a Network with an executive Casting team. This is a 12-24 month program paid through a third party and will report into Casting and Talent Development & Inclusion

Casting Apprentice Program Responsibilities:

The Apprentice will be working within a Network or Studio. The Apprentice will work with Casting Executives and/or Directors to manage the day to day casting responsibilities for a television show or feature. This will include scheduling and maintaining the casting database and tracking all guest star appearances on scripted projects. Other duties can include, but are not limited to, facilitating and attending casting sessions, prescreening, reviewing, editing & uploading auditions, as well as developing a strong rapport with talent agents & managers. The Apprentice will get exposure to top level programming executives and be expected to attend various departmental meetings.
