Stephen Colbert Donates $800,000 to Support Teachers and Schools

just made a ton of South Carolina teachers and very happy. Days before “Teacher Appreciation Week,” made a announcement at a surprise event on Thursday, stating that he plans to fund every existing grant request S.C. public school teeachers have made on the non-profit crowdfunding site DonorsChoose.org

These grants will be funding everything from classroom supplies, school uniforms to teach development and new . His partnership with DonorsChoose will fund around 1,000 projects for over 800 teachers and about 375 South Carolina schools which brings the total to $800,000.
