‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Cast Two New Actors, Taking Two Week Break

Date:

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ adds two new cast members to the upcoming sequel.

Following the addition of two cast members, filming of the movie is set to take a tw0-week hiatus in August.

Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson were revealed on the website of the ‘Star Wars: Episode VII‘. Both actors were added as part of open casting calls held in multiple cities across the United States and U.K.

J.J. Abrams did not unveil what characters Clarke and Anderson will portray. But, according to the open casting call description included two characters, including Rachel and Thomas. Rachel was described as “street smart, independent, athletic, natural beauty” while Thomas has “grown up without a father’s influence. Without the model of being a man, he doesn’t have the strongest sense of himself.”

Crystal Clarke worked on the upcoming feature film ‘The Moon and the Sun’ a fantasy film directed by Sean McNamara and features Pierce Brosnan and William Hurt as the leading actors.

Pip Anderson did not have any feature film credits. But, she did appear in MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge and in a commercial for Spider-Man.

The two week break was due to the injury by Harrison Ford sustained on set. He was later hospitalized for the injury.

It was reported earlier last week that the movie may be undergoing script and re-writing Harrison Ford out of the series.

“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in the Sunday casting statement.
