Jamie Foxx Defends Quentin Tarantino: “Keep Speaking the Truth”

Jamie Foxx has decided to defend his friend and Django Unchained co-star, Quentin Tarantino following the director’s recent police comments.

Jamie Foxx took the stage on Sunday during the Hollywood Film Awards. He decided to support Tarantino who has been facing harsh criticism from police unions and political conservatives after attending an anti-police violence rally.

Jamie Foxx told the audience for Quentin Tarantino to “Keep telling the truth, keep speaking the truth and don’t worry about none of the haters.”

Jamie Foxx recently made the comments as he was presenting an award to the cast and crew for Tarantino’s new movie The Hateful Eight. Despite, Jamie Foxx bringing the issue to the forefront, the cast of the film avoided any controversy and didn’t respond to Foxx’s comments.

The controversy surrounding Tarantino started when the director attended a rally protesting police brutality in New York City.

Tarantino told the crowd, according to reports, that “when I seen murders, I do not stand by … I have to call a murder a murder and I have to call the murderers the murderers.”

The Pulp Fiction’s comments caused police unions across the country to boycott all of Quentin Tarantino’s movies including the upcoming feature film The Hateful Eight. 

According to the New York Post, Harvey Weinstein, the studio executive behind The Hateful Eight, is reportedly upset with the director and is calling for Tarantino to apologize.

According to TheWrap, Quentin Tarantino is expected to apologize later on this week.
