Disney+ Announces Release of 20 New Asian Titles in the Next Year.

Disney+ has exciting plans to expand its content library with a diverse range of films and series from East Asia. Over the next year, viewers can expect a collection of 20 captivating titles across various genres and periods.

The streaming platform has curated an impressive lineup of content sourced from Japan and Korea, which will be released throughout the second half of 2023 and early 2024. The highly anticipated Korean drama series, Moving, produced by renowned webtoon giant Kang Full, will lead the launch, set to premiere on August 9. Following closely behind is the detective drama The Worst of Evil, featuring acclaimed actors Ji Changwook, Wi Hajun from Squid Game, and Lim Semi.

Fans from Japan can look forward to Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku Arc, the next chapter in the beloved anime series. Additionally, Disney+ will present Dragons of Wonderhatch, a unique “hybrid story” that combines live-action elements with anime.

As part of an exciting collaboration with Hybe, Disney+ will unveil BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, a highly anticipated docu-series offering an intimate look into the remarkable journey of the K-pop group over the past nine years. This series promises unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage, providing viewers with an unfiltered perspective.

Music enthusiasts can also anticipate two other music-centric titles coming to the platform later this year: the docu-series NCT 127: The Lost Boys and the Korean drama Soundtrack #2. Moreover, 2023 will see the release of Japanese animes Synduality Noir and Phoenix: Eden17 and Korean comedies Vigilante and Han River Police. Notable Japanese ice skater Yuzuru Hanyu will also grace the platform with a captivating ice show performance.

In other news from the entertainment industry, Insidious: The Red Door has claimed the top spot at the box office, surpassing Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny.
