Chronicle's Josh Trank will direct a Stand-Alone Star Wars Movie
While J. J. Abrams
is working on Star Wars: Episode VII, a whole new trilogy of Star Wars
films set three decades after the Empire
and Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi
, two other spin-off movies are also in the works.

. Now, in addition to his Fantastic Four reboot for FOX
has announced that he will be directing one of the stand-alone Star Wars
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy states:

in directing the Star Wars spin-off movies.
Josh Trank will be busy in the future taking a new version of The Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell. The Fantastic Four film hits theaters June 19th, 2015, and it seems unlikely Trank will be around for a sequel. His work on the next Star Wars spin-off would most likely begin right away, although no release date has been set.
