'Pitch Perfect 3' is coming soon.
According to
Variety, Universal and Gold Circle are working on a 'Pitch Perfect' sequel with hopes of screenwriter Kay Cannon to return.
Kay Cannon made millions by writing the first two films, which have been major hits for Universal. The 2012 'Pitch Perfect' made $113 million worldwide, while 'Pitch Perfect 2' more than doubled the original with $250 million worldwide.
The original movie was based on Mickey Rapkin's book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory." The sequel was directed and produced by Elizabeth Banks and starred Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp and Banks.
While the project is in its early stages, be on the look out for casting calls for potential lead roles. Universal has not chosen a director or release date for 'Pitch Perfect 3' and it is uncertain which cast members will return.
