This Is Us star Mandy Moore gives a shout out to Background Actors during the SAG Awards 2019.
The NBC Drama This Is Us took home the SAG Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series for the second time in a row on Sunday night, beating out Better Call Saul, The Americans, The Handmaid’s Tale, and ozark. The cast took the stage at the ceremony and gave a speech thanking fans of the show for their support and the background actors, who we are argue are the unsung heroes on every production, that worked on the show.
Mandy Moore said, ‘A huge thank you to our union, all of the sag actor members that watched our show and voted for us.’
Moore added, ’We have the best crew in a business. And all of the background actors -Our show wouldn’t be what it is without you.’
In his acceptance speech, Josh Hartley said, “Thank you so much for embracing a show that is about life and loss. Thank you for all of our parents of us up here for feeling randy otherwise we wouldn’t be here too.”
