Should You Send a Thank You Letter After an Audition?

Do thank you letters increase your chances after an audition?

Many times people forget that you should always be professional even as an actor and the little things that you do as an actor can go a long way.

A quick thank you note sent to the casting director after the interview could improve your chances of getting the role. Even if you don’t get the speaking line, it is a good idea to send a note of thanks.

A follow-up letter will help you stand out from other actors and possibly lead to future opportunities. Especially if the new person does not work out for the movie or TV show, casting directors might reach back to you. Or, a new position can open up, and the casting director may be more likely to remember you.

Here is the type of letter to write when you don’t get the job. You want to keep it short and sweet. Thank them for considering you for the audition. Tell them what impressed you about the role you were considered for. Let them know you would like to keep in touch and would like to be considered for future openings.
