Check out Selena Gomez audition for ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’
Gomez’s mother, Mandy, was a stage actress, and Selena credits her early interest in acting to watching her mother prepare for plays. Selena was raised by her mother after her parents divorced when she was five.
Selena Gomez began her acting career on the hit TV series ‘Barney & Friends‘ where she played Gianna. But, after working on the show for two years she was dropped from the TV series.
She would later work on several small feature films and TV shows including Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over and Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire.
Selena Gomez would guest star on several Disney TV shows including The Suite Life of Zach and Cody and on Hanna Montana. Producers loved her and decided to give her a TV show. It was not until the third TV series, Wizards of Waverly Place, which she auditioned for three times, that she landed the role that made her career.
