Colin Farrel’s ‘Winter’s Tale’ marks the third the actor’s third major box office flop in a row.
With “Winter’s Tale” bombing in the box office, leading actor Colin Farrel has added another poor performing movie to his resume.
The romantic fantasy from Warner Bros. is expected to make less than $10 million dollars over Presidents Day weekend. That would make this the third movie in a row in which Colin Farrel has played a leading role and the movie flopped.
However, it is important to note that it is not all Colin Farrel’s fault. “Winter’s Tale” was written and directed by Akiva Goldsman was given a 14 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and an adult time-travel fantasy maybe difficult to relate to wide audiences.
The thriller “Dead Man Down”, and “Seven Psychopaths” both performed poorly in the box office.
When Colin Farrel worked as a supporting actor his movies did better. “Saving Mr. Banks” along side Tom Hanks where he played the father of Emma Thompson’s “Mary Poppins” author. It made $99 million worldwide since it was released for Disney in December.
Colin Farrel’s biggest hit came as a small role in “Horrible Bosses”, that featured Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston. That feature film made $117 million dollars domestically and another $92 million overseas.
Colin Farrel’s next movie is with Rache Weisz where he will co-star in the love story “The Lobster”.
