Tyler Perry Upgrades Extras to Principal Speaking Roles

Tyler Perry made a few actors dreams come true.

Southern Casting Associates, the extras casting company behind Tyler Perry’s TV shows, announced on Facebook that Tyler Perry upgraded background actors to principal speaking roles.

“Thanks to all the talent that helped make these televisions shows happen!,” Souther Casting Associates posted on Facebook. “Congratulations to the two that got bumped to principal today as well- you know who you are. ??Please do not post about it until after the episodes air. Also a special thanks to the best casting associates in the business. Onward to our new projects: a video game and a feature film. Stay tuned, following, and submitting for more. Dreams come true here with the Southern Casting Associates family.”

Details surrounding the show have not been released but, it was recently announced that Tyler Perry is currently working on an upcoming House of Payne spinoff.

This is not the first time Tyler Perry upgraded background extras to principal speaking roles. On the set of Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home,  an aspiring actor, hired to work as a background extra, was upgraded to a Principal speaking role in the series.

Casting directors posted on Facebook the good news. “Congratulations to Hunter Watson on being bumped to a PRINCIPAL ROLE!! He is signing his contract as we speak! This goes to show you that it can happen to you at ANY MOMENT when you are working with us at Tyler Perry Studio!”
