True Blood’s ‘Luke Grimes’ left the show because his character would be a gay character.

It was common knowledge among True Blood fans that Luke Grimes had left his role as James to be replaced by Nathan Parsons. However, it is now being reported why the actor might have left.

When Luke Grimes left the show, he was on his way to film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey‘ so not too many people questioned his departure from TV, but TVLine reported hat it was due to “creative differences”.

Previously, Buzzfeed reported taht a soucre close to production that Grimes left the show because James would enter into a romance with Lafayeette this season, and Luke Grimes was uncomfortable portraying a character in a homosexual relationship.

Today’s report states that:

Grimes objected to the first few scripts he received, once it became clear that his character would become romantically involved with Lafayette. He countered that he would be willing to play the role if Lafayette were attracted to him, but not if the attraction was mutual. He also did not want to do any same-sex kissing or sex scenes. The writers were unwilling to change the scripts on his behalf
