Thomas Crown Affair reboot is coming soon with as the lead actor.

The Thomas Crown affair is getting another remake, as MGM continues to dig through their library to find projects to reboot. This time, in an interesting twist, Michael B. Jordan has been cast in the lead role in the movie.

Previously in 199, John McTiernan directed a version of the heist/romance movie, starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo, which was also a remake of the 1968 movie of the same name, directed and produced by Norman Jewison, starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. It was nominated for two Academy awards, winning Best Original Song for Michel Legrand’s Windmills of Your Mind.”

The movie centers around an adventurous bank executive who believes he has pulled off the perfect multi-million dollar heist, only to fall in love with a sexy insurance investigator who will do anything to find the thief.

The movie doesn’t have a director or writer attached yet, nor has the female lead been cast.

Jordan previously worked on the MGM hit movie Creed, the sequel to the Rocky franchise with Sylvester Stallone, so the studio is looking to extend their relationship with the actor.

This could be pretty interesting. I’m not typically a fan of reboots, but I’m interesting to see how this movie plans out with a black male lead actor. Maybe it can recapture the original essence of the first Thomas Crown Affair and mix it with the soul of Creed.

Here’s a clip of one of the more memorable scenes from the original 1968 film:
