If you didn’t know, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based on the true story of Ed Gein. Ed Gein was a murder and body snatcher. He committed several crimes in his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin. Gein would remove corpses from local graveyards and create trophies out of their skin and bones. Gein later confessed to killing two women in the 1950s. Ed Gein made masks from the skin from female heads while also keeping noses, heads, and skulls throughout his home. Gein was later placed in a mental health facility.
