Suicide Squad’s executive producer Steven Mnuchin is also Donald Trump’s chief fundraiser.

Critics really dislike the new Suicide Squad movie. But, did you know the movie’s executive producer is Donald Trump’s Chief Campaign Fundraiser?

Steven Mnuchin is working really hard this summer. The former investment banker is not only the executive producer of Suicide Squad but also Donald Trump’s chief fundraiser, according to The Wrap.

Mnuchin has worked in the film industry for nearly a decade. He has produced movies such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, American Sniper and Mad Max: Fury Road. He also financed David Ayer’s Suicide Squad alongside Brett Ratner and James Packer.

However, according to TheWrap, Steve Mnuchin has a “complicated past”.

From The Wrap:

Mnuchin has a complicated past of his own, one that raised eyebrows when Trump named him his lead fundraiser in May.

He pocketed money stolen by Bernie Madoff, and Relativity Media, the studio behind “The Fighter,” once accused his bank of “violating bankruptcy procedures and for delaying the release of a movie recently considered to be the studio’s savior.”

Recently, Mnuchin told Showbiz411 Tuesday, “You’d be surprised how many secret Republicans there are in Hollywood!”

It’s important to point out that Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad has been bashed by critics. Critics basically hate the movie. For example, on Rotten Tomatoes the movie currently has a 29% rotten score. In addition, movie critics like Michael Sullivan with Washington Post said, “In aiming for – but falling short of appealing to – the teenage demographic, the film is a double cop-out, disappointing both fans of the source material’s grown-up gloom-and-doom aesthetic and discerning adolescents.”

While critics may not like Suicide Squad, Mnuchin still has the chance at helping Donald Trump win an election.
