The creators of South Park, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone, have curated an all-new hour-long episode related to the Coronavirus COVID-19 for Season 24.

The upcoming episode is titled “The Pandemic Special,” and will reportedly show Randy dealing with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak while citizens of South Park adjust to the pandemic. The upcoming episode will touch on relevant issues while Stan, Carmen, Kyle, and Kenny go back to school to see that nothing is normal. Highlighted in the trailer, the kids will have a new teacher, homeroom, and Eric Carmen.

In relevant news, the Coronavirus is having a real-time impact on the film industry. Hollywood abandons filming in the U.S. due to the lack of Coronavirus tests. A movie starring Ben Affleck was supposed to start filming in the United States. However, due to the lack of COVID-19 Coronavirus testing material and short lab results, producers moved the filming location to Canada. Ben Affleck’s latest movie is just one of several projects leaving the U.S. for Canada, the U.K., and Australia due to the Coronavirus.

Also, ABC canceled Stumptown over Coronavirus COVID-19, reversing a previous season 2 renewal decision. According to The Wrap, the Cobie Smulders drama series was picked up for a second season in May, but on Wednesday, ABC was forced to reverse their decision due to scheduling issues. The studio behind the series, ABC Signature, will reportedly attempt to sell the show to other networks and streaming platforms.

That said, live-action productions will struggle to film due to Coronavirus protocols. Animated shows like South Park have the benefit of filming and working from home.

The South Park, “The Pandemic Special, will premiere on September 30, 8 p.m. EDT on Comedy Central.
