‘Shooter’ TV Series Premiere Delayed Following Dallas Shooting

USA network’s Shooter gets delayed following the Dallas police shooting

USA drama starring Ryan Phillippe will now premiere on July 26 after being delayed for an entire week due to the deadly shooting in Dallas last week.

The TV series features Ryan Phillippe as a marine sniper, and was originally expected to premiere on July 19th but will air a week later on July 26th.

“In light of recent tragic events and out of respect for the victims, their families and our viewers, we have decided to postpone the premiere date for the upcoming USA Network series ‘Shooter,’ to July 26,” a network spokesperson said.

12 police officers and two civilians were shot by a sniper in Dallas, Texas, during a peaceful Black Lives Matter rally. Five police officers died, as well as the gunman, who was killed in an explosion set off by police after an hours-long standoff.

THe new TV series si based on the 2007 feature film and the original Stephen Hunter novel Point of Impact. THe show features Phillippe playing Bob Lee Swagger, an off-the-grid former Marine sniper who is forced into action after being framed for killing the president.

This news comes after one of the actor’s on the show, Tom Sizemore, ran over a stunt double putting the stunt actor in the hospital.
