Samsung Smart TVs Can Record Your Voice and Sell Your Info

The new Samsung Smart TVs can record your voice and sell your information to 3rd parties.

South Korean tech giant Samsung recently rolled out a new line of Smart TVs. However, if someone closely looks at the privacy police that is provided with the product, they might be shocked to read the following clause:

“Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition.”

It is not entirely clear how often Smart TVs will be listening in on their users, but it is somewhat scary to learn that anything you say in your living room can be recorded by the TV and will immediately become the property of Samsung.

In addition, the company is allowed to handle the information in any way they want; regardles show “personal” or “sensitive” it may be.

With Samsung competing against Google and Apple, issues with trust seem like a major obstacle the company is going to need to overcome. However, what is more alarming is the fact that TVs will soon be recording everything you say or perhaps even do in front of a TV.
