‘The Nutty Professor’ Reboot is Coming Soon

The Nutty Professor reboot is coming soon.

A reboot for The Nutty Professor is currently in development.

The last 1996 movie, was a reboot of the original 1963 movie and starred Eddie Murphy and was a hit at the box office, earning $274 million in sales from a budget of only $54 million.

Project X Entertainment, which is the studio behind Scream 5, will produce the reboot, and James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein will be the key people leading its development. Vanderbilt, who has a large portfolio and known for writing scripts for movies including ZodiacThe Amazing Spider-Man, and The Rundown, will produce the project. The upcoming movie is currently in development, so writers, actors, or directors are attached to the project so far. Stay tuned for casting calls, news, and auditions.

In relevant news, Will Smith and Kevin Hart are teaming up to produce a remake of the 1987 Paramount Pictures “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”.

The original movie was directed by John Hughes and starred Steve Martin and John Candy as two businessmen trying to get home for Thanksgiving. The remake will be a modern version of the original with Smith and Hart playing characters who are forced to team up to overcome travel issues to get home to their loved ones.

Hart’s HartBeat Productions and Smith’s Westbrook Studios, are developing the remake. Aeysha Carr from Brooklyn 99 will write the screenplay and will make her feature film debut.
