Netflix may start to end the binge-watching habit for many of their original shows.

The streaming service is changing to a per-week episode release model, starting with “The Great British Baking Show”, “Rhythm & Flow,” the rap competition series led by Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I.

According to multiple reports, Netflix’s decision could have been made to increase the suspense of eliminations, similar to many reality shows on Television. “Rhythm & Flow” will release their first four episodes, the audition process for the show, on October 9th. The series will continue with 5 to 7 one week later episodes starting on October 16 and final episodes 8 to 10 wrapping up the show on October 23rd.

Netflix is following Disney+ model. Disney+ is debuting episodes of shows like “The Mandalorian” and “Loki” per week. This strategy could be a way to build up attention regarding their popular original shows to prevent spoilers for those who have not binged-watched the shows yet.
