Netflix’s Standard Definition May Cost $7/Month

The Netflix Standard Definition tier, which is ad-supported, might cost anywhere from $7 to $9 per month.

The price of the free plan is roughly half that of its cheapest ad-free option.

According to reports, for its forthcoming ad-supported tier, Netflix is considering a price tag of $7 to $9.

As reported by Bloomberg, the streaming service hopes to start with fewer ads per hour – around four minutes. This would be much less than what its competitors offer. They will play the ads before and during programs, but Netflix plans on avoiding too many tailored commercials. By doing this, subscribers can watch the same ad content in a non-repetitive way. 

Netflix is also planning on smaller partnering deals with different advertisers. “overpromise and overwhelm viewers with the spots.”

Netflix’s ad-supported option will become available in at least six countries sometime between October and December 2022, though it may not be accessible worldwide until early 2023.
