A model and fashion entrepreneur has been charged with running a sophisticated cocaine ring across Australia.

Police allege George Gerges, 31, is one of six men who have been supplying more than a million dollars’ worth of cocaine

Ten properties across Australia were raided on Wednesday. All six men aged 28 to 39 were charged with ongoing drug supply and being part of a criminal group. Police allege Mr Gerges supplied 941.9 grams of cocaine, with a street value of $282,000 over a three-month period in the Pyrmont area.

He was also charged on Wednesday with possessing steroids.

From SMH:

Another man, Anslem Lee, 37, allegedly allowed his Dulwich Hill home to be used as a “drug premises” for the syndicate and sold three kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of $900,000.

Police say that, during the raids, they found a further 650 grams of cocaine, cannabis, MDMA and $38,000 in cash, allegedly the proceeds of crime.

A .22 calibre sawn-off rifle and a loaded pen gun were allegedly seized from the home in Homebush.

Police allege they have destroyed a “sophisticated syndicate” operating in Sydney Australia that involved “distributing cocaine from several properties across Sydney”.

“Strike Force Morti detectives have been investigating this drug syndicate for a number of months and today’s arrests are a direct result of their hard work,” he said on Wednesday.

“We will continue to detect and seize these drugs using various methods and by targeting drug supply and possession at all levels.”
