Michael Bay Officially Quits Transformers, Will Direct 13 Hours

Michael Bay will not return to direct the new Transformers movie but will instead direct the Benghazi film, 13 Hours.

Even though Michael Bay will not be filming the next Transformers movie, he is moving on to bigger and better movies.

Variety reports that Michael Bay is currently in discussion to direct Paramount’s 13 Hours. 13 Hours is based on the attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya, on the 11th anniversary of September 11th.

Transformers: Age of Extinction made $1 billion worldwide, and the director announced that he is interested in pursuing other projects.

“I have a lot of stories to tell,” Bay said. “And it’s about flexing new muscles.”

13 hours is based on the novel Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff, which had its film rights acquired by Paramount in February.

Michael Bay revealed that while 13 Hours will be nothing like the Transformers franchise. However, the feature film should have several aspects similar to Black Hawk Down and The Rock.

Michael Bay has a certain filming style that is different than any other director in Hollywood. He may not be the best but, he is good at throwing more action in your face than you can handle.
